Using a dremel tool should get the job done and should cut through the lattice structure on the back side without issue. The driver assistance button panel has an outer plastic frame that will cover any "not so pretty" edges after the hole is cut in the lower dash trim panel. There is also power nearby for the ambient lighting so powering the driver assistance button panel shouldn't be a problem. Just an idea.

I’ll take a photo of what I’m referring to, there is steel structure portions behind that panel that the driver assistance module would run into as well. Additionally, this would require lengthening the harness for the panel which I’d rather but may have to.

I’ll grab those but they are the OEM brakes from 335/340’s with a 4 piston 340mm front and a single piston rear (330mm I believe )

Completed a Mewant Chinese steering wheel cover today. The research I did in addition to Mewant states you can do this with the wheel attached; you’d have to have far more patience and flexibility than I do to do that.

Regardless, it turned out alright and I like the feel of it far better than the OEM leather that deteriorates and becomes greasy so quickly. I had a Coby recovered Alcantara wheel on my last F31 but I like this cover far better and was only $20. We’ll see how it holds up in the long term

Been a while since any updates. I've been driving the car a decent amount for work (32k miles in 10 months) and am due for some changes. First up is suspension; I went with KW Street Comfort coilovers purchased from ML Performance for far less than anything I've seen stateside. Total price shipped from the UK was ~$1400, customer service was fantastic as well. I was hesitant at first as I had no experience with them prior but would recommend them to anyone
https://www.mlperformance.co

I purchased brand new front strut mounts and RSM's so that I didn't have to disassemble and reuse old mounts from my stock suspension. Install was a breeze and to those who haven't done F30 suspension before, follow FaRKle! method for the front struts. I did it the 'BMW way' on my last F31 and it was so much easier this time

Waiting on tires to arrive, they should be installed this week. Brakes will also be installed this week or next, more updates to come!

That's a steal on the KWs. I love mine but I do avoid any irregularities like raised patched asphalt as much as possible.
I've got a sister in Piedmont and been to Greenville a few times (shopping, eating, ballgame), what a nice city.

Greenville has turned into a great place, I can cycle year round as better winters than where I grew up (another New Englander )
Concerning the KW's, I find them more compliant and comfortable thus far than the Eibach / Koni SA setup I had on my last F31, however we'll see if that changes with my new wheel/tire setup...

Had a busy week with the F31

After KW’s installed, my new wheels and tires showed up:

Apex ARC-8’s 19x9 et28
General GMAX AS-05’s 255/35/19

This is another tire size not recommended by Apex as it’s not very conservative. This is wheel set #3 that I’ve oversized outside of Apex recommendations and been fortunate enough to not have issues.

Also able to install my brake setup from a 440i (referenced in post above). Included StopTech SS lines and a full system bleed. Overall happy with the setup, adjusting the rear coils has been difficult as the threaded sleeve spins with the collar. Will have alignment done on the car next week along with some better pictures.

wow! that's a killer deal. I went to their site but did not see the same price. can you link the exact spec please! I've purchased a set of HR and B8 spring/shock combo already waiting to be installed, but willing to "upgrade" for a few hundred bucks to get the comfort coils.

Seems as though they increased the price slightly, I paid $1,323 + $109 shipping. However the current price is still far less than anything else I've seen from US vendors. There's a reason for this I'm sure and I'm not trying to discredit anyone, but this worked well for me and was a fantastic price.

most likely it's not price increase, but rather GBP is getting a bit stronger than USD since the last time you purchased.

right now GBP is about 1.2 USD, probably you bought it at 1.1 rate, about 10% cheaper, which is approx the same appreciation of GBP vs USD.

lol, if you already purchased, then you need to sell the shock/spring, and that's a loss too... just don't forget to count that.

Loving the calipers. I have orange accents in my interior in preparation for my eventual purchase. FYI the rear coilovers are meant to be adjusted off the car (both height and rebound).

I read that in the manual after posting, I’ve never had coilovers like that before and it makes the initial ride height adjustment very difficult and lengthy of a process!

Are you planning to purchase the full M Performance brake setup? I know those dwarf the braking benefit/improvement of these ones

I'm probably going to piece together a brake kit using the m performance calipers with cross drilled stoptech rotors and ss brake lines. I'm in no rush though after just purchasing an axle back, rear diffuser, air intake, and winter tires!

Purchased a 65mm stud set from Motorsport Hardware. Installation is very easy and adds a convenience factor for tire rotations during oil changes.

Been a while since I’ve updated. Been putting miles on the car for work, at 66,xxx miles now

Maintenance done at 55,xxx miles:
-ZF trans pan and fluid replacement
-NGK spark plug replacement
-Meyle front camber arms, thrust arms and tie rod replacement

Recently chopped off my rear muffler to replace with dual setup. Polished a used 440 muffler purchased from a local member in Atlanta.
-OEM 340/440 rear muffler
-OEM exhaust clamp
-EBay rear diffuser

Car sounds exactly how I’d like with the muffler replacement and coding exhaust flap to be open all the time. Not loud but a bit more sound than stock. I cannot recommend the diffuser, although it arrived in 2 days and was $50, you get what you pay for. Had to remove rear bumper to fit as clips wouldn’t engage otherwise. Additionally, the ends don’t actually engage at all, it’s too narrow. May replace with an OEM piece later, but this works for now.

Nicely done. Ironically I did ZF transmission service and Spark plugs at same interval on mine. I've really been going back and forth on dual exhaust or single-sided. OEM 340/440 rear muffler just bolts straight up?

As for the diffuser, I've heard similar fitment issues. The MPerformance is pretty ridiculous in terms of price for ABS Plastic, but my hope is they go on sale at some point.

Thanks for kind words. Yes, muffler fits right up and took me a total of ~2 hrs to cut, measure and fit. The diffuser took longer since I had to remove the rear bumper (which also isn't difficult, but is necessary)

Is the bumper removal necessary for OEM Diffuser / MPerformance?
