I'm your 328i twin. Accelerating/WOT is amazing and I don't mind it being loud, but during comfort/eco, the acceleration is too slow and sounds like a tractor. I basically just drive in sport all the time now, haha.

Nah that stock exhaust is long gone. I'll have a change soon from the sounds of it will see what happens.

It means you cut out your stock resonator and replace it with a straight pipe. A resonator is supposed to help keep the drone down.

I was planning on going with a catless DP since my AWE with midpipe isn’t quite loud enough, but not sure after reading this

I mean it's really each to their own, you'll find a hand full of people that love it, but I'm not one. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Muffler delete with vibrant resonators was def a mistake for me. Absolutely horrible drone.

My Corsa exhaust isn’t crazy loud, but even with kittyless dp, almost no drone.

I love my AWE axleback exhaust it's a great piece and the sound... almost exotic at certain rpm range. I kept the stock midpipe though since deleting a resonator would only make it drone more with the catless dp. Why delete resonators on street cars? they don't restrict flow and only make the car drone. My f30 has the catalytic converter warm up cycle coded out (Bootmod3) so it's not bad on cold start, others may think its obnoxious but I love it. 8AT in manual 95% when not in traffic.

Biggest mod regret is throwing money at a car instead of moving to a better performing platform. I've modified several cars in the past and my modding philosophy now is less is more when it comes to mods.

This is a great platform. It's not a race car by any means. It is however a quick car that makes the commute better. It's an everyday car. I can drive it 80 miles a day and not worry about putting miles on it

When I bought my car it already had full exhaust delete. As in, after the downpipe, it is straight piped all the way back. No mufflers or resonators.

I just got FBO and will be installing when it warms up. I am not sure how the cattless downpipe is going to make it sound, but I imagine horrible

The dealer I bought it from told me they took the car on a trade and were going to put a stock exhuast on it, but I loved the sound, so I told them to leave it. I kind of regret it now.

I had the same experience with a previous owner muffler delete on an E92.

I didn't like it either.

I did get lucky though, I found a JB4 on it; I sold it and put the money towards a new exhaust.

Agreed. I was referring to my Honda days.

Seasoned veteran on many BMW platforms. N54, N55 (e), S65, N55 (f)...

1. Catless DP on N55 (e). No secondary cats and if not running E85 smells will have wife complaining.
2. Intake... on any car. Money waste (unless going for sound)
3. 19" rims. NVH is dramatically increased, larger rotational mass, and fragile against mild potholes.
4. Converting exterior/interior to M/Sport packages instead of waiting and simply purchasing the vehicle equipped with it. Would've saved so much on the first vehicles.
5. BBK... no need unless tracking. Even at 600+ whp. No need.
6. inlets on the N54. Made blow off sound like a wet fart. Had to tap manifold and reduce spring to fix... still never sounded right.

I could go on. Purchased a F30 M sport, EWG. In terms of mods, FMIC + DP + CP + tune and your golden. Anything more than that...

Bilstein B14 coilovers. When I first installed them on my Sportline, initially I thought there was little difference in ride quality vs the M Sport.

Wrong. They are not horrible by any means, but given where I live (NE Ohio) the roads and weather here do not go with coilovers. At zero degrees temperature the fluid practically becomes solid. I'm dodging potholes left and right for fear of damaging something.

If this was a track car or weekend warm weather toy, they'd be great. For a 365 day daily driver in a cold climate with shit roads, I wouldn't recommend them.

They'll be coming off soon for Eibach's and OEM Sport struts.

Getting a 335i without paddle shifters. I know it sounds like a small thing but it drives me crazy. That and the sport line steering wheel. Should of held out to find that perfect M sport but I rushed.

Aftermarket parts include

BC coils - so far not bad but nervous they will start squeaking.
JB4 - not a fan of the new update without the auto delete for the catless downpipe
Catless DP- great
Charge pipe - great
BMS intake - great
Tires - continentals, good for the money but I miss the grip of the super sports

On the way FMIC and AA exhaust.

With exhausts its best to get a resonated one if you are doing downpipes.. Without a resonator or cats you get drone which can be very annoying at certain RPMs.

I usually recommend if going catless get the resonated version of the AWE or other exhaust.. If keep the downpipes stock then you can get the non-resonated version.

I am also a fan of the sound of the stock exhaust with catless downpipes, so thats something to consider as well.. Cheaper then a full exhaust

I agree Mike your asessment of the stock exhaust. It does have one weird crushed area towards the back but it is nothing that warrants me to change it I was surprised at how big the stock exhaust is!

Front lower splitter that attaches to the Msport front bumper.

I'm a wagon, with Xdrive, and I still scrape. Yes, I do know how to drive upgrades/downgrades at angles.

Doesn't help when I drive down US1 @60mph with road debris.

I finally had to remove it. Love the look but couple times, felt like my whole front bumper was gonna come off.
