great render. If they can maintain same shape same tails... the GC will be great as a sport back. Sell much cheaper than the wonderful A7/S7.

That side rendering looks terrific, hope the production version doesn't deviate too much from that rendering. Also wish that BMW will make that led headlight from the 4 concept coupe into production as an option at least for those that love the look of it, I certainly do.

I'm very excited not only for the 4GC but also the upcoming X4. The exterior design of this concept has me thrilled about future of the BMW language. I hope it translates into production very well.

When my Z4 lease is up in 2014, I know there are going to be some good choices not only from BMW but also from other manuffacturers as well. Hopefully the automobile industry will keep this momentum forward.

Well considering we've already seen detailed production photos of the 4 series i wouldn't hold your breath for it to include any of the features of the concept. The concept off which these renders are based is meant to stir excitement but it is not an accurate depiction of the final product.

I will respectfully disagree..Take a look @ the 6 Series Grand Coupe Design Concept and final production version as proof

Right now the 4 series Coupe or Grand Coupe are at the top of my list in X Drive when my X3 lease is up...

From what I can see and compare in the exterior spyshots that's been posted. The major changes for production are that the door handles, the exterior mirrors and the front and rear bumpers. Not sure if that LED headlight will make it. I hope so, but I doubt it.

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=778624

I hope the full led headlight trickles down to the 4 Series....

You misread my post. I wrote "I'm not sure what the brand is doing w/ this." – not what brand is doing this?! Try to read next time.

Comparing the 6 & 7 series is wrong because they are in completely different classes. The 6 series is a sports car, while the 7 is a large sedan. I believe the 4 Series GC will have a negative impact on the brand, watering down the 3 series and cannibalizing sales on both the 3 & 5.

Wow...what a stunning looking car. I really hope BMW produces the actual car very close to the render. Looks amazing!

I don't believe BMW will use a 3rd window at the C-pillar for the GC. It is not traditional BMW (Like someone said that's Audi) and it doesn't fit a BMW(only SAVs, Tourings and GTs). I believe the roofline will follow that of 6GC with the clever trick of a thinner outside C-pillar and thicker inside (covered in some sort of material) like the GC creating the allusion of a very thin C-pillar. No chance in hell for a 3rd window imo.

Every 4 door BMW has a "third" window. The back seat windows roll all the way down.

Well you are technically right but you know what I mean. This "3rd" window will always be part of the door unless its an SAV, GT or Touring. In the new renderings we actually see 4 windows, 3 as part of the doors and 1 as part of the C-pillar. That's not BMW, that's Audi so I see no chance of this happening.

I hope the 4 Series GranCoupé will look more like the 6 Series GranCoupé, because right now it looks more like a 3 Series GranTourer, A5/A7 Sportback.

While I'm not a fan of the original render's long wheelbase, the new render's shorter wheelbase comes at the expense of those elegant trunk proportions. Now the render makes the car look like a sport back, which I wouldn't be too fond of.

At any rate, it'll be a few more months before BMW unveils this car officially. Looking forward to it.

All these Gran Coupes are hot, but I just wonder if the same thing will happen as the reveal of the 4 series coupe concept. :3

You have nailed it. The door outline on the actual car at the rear is fake and covered with a panel that makes it look like the door shutline when actually the shutline is underneath the panel.
Some seem to think it is the actual door

I got a feeling that this will steal some 3 series sales, which might be why there is no A5 sportback (which is very nice looking) in the US

Of course it will, but the 4GC will bring in much more profit per car than the 3er. As for Audi I don't know why the don't sell the A5 Sportback. But I have a suspicion that will change when the 4GC is introduced.
