So mine is just a cap that covers it. Is that how it comes on all BMW? Or I'm I suppose to have a cig lighter there? I don't smoke, and don't allow smoking in my car but I was just wondering. Found out when I plugged in a phone charger.

The cap is normal in the US.

It's not a cig lighter socket anymore; it'a a power outlet to charge you iphone, ipad, ipod, iXXX, etc.
