Stock Stereo - Alpine Subwoofer Installed
I have a 2013 AW 328i m-sport w/ premium & tech packages... and I love it. One of the only downfalls about the car, in my opinion, is the stock sound system. And I have noticed there questions and concerns regarding sub installs so I thought I'd share.
Kicker DX500.1 amp powering a Alpine Type R 12 at 2 ohms. Amp is nicely hidden. This is the minimum power I would recommend. The car is built so sturdy, not much rattles.. Just clean bass. Phone pics.. can take quality vid if anyone is interested. Enjoy -Alex |

I'm a computer programmer, but i know jack squat about car audio installation. Any way you could do a detailed walkthrough of installation? Would love to do this. I'm content with the current sound system, but the subs are lacking, so this would be a good solution.

With the limited space, why are people not putting the amp inside the sub-woofer enclosure? Heat is not going to be that big of an issue. The air flow is not that great where the amp is located outside anyway.
