nice looking wheels, crappy tires?
going to buy xo verona wheels. in square 20x8.5 or 9 setup since i have a xdrive.. im only upgrading for looks, and since i consider myself a below aveage driver, is it okay if i just get crappy tires instead of all those P zero, mssp stuff? i dont wanna spend another 1000 bucks on tires... i honestly dont know if my driving skill will tell me the difference, and i dont drive aggressively at all... im looking to spend about 600 for 4 245/30(35)/20 tires.. any suggestion?

hankook ventus v12 evo2, continental dw, bridegstone potenza re760sport are decent reasonably priced you might want to consider for starters. i'd also go with the 9" with 255/30/20 as it will provide slightly more protection while filling the wheel wells better Last edited by alohasurftoad; 06-18-2016 at 03:07 AM.. |

Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions in those sizes are about 600$
great tire for the price and handle very well I would go with those over Hankooks or Continentals IMHO |

My personal view: if you've decided that buying a BMW is a reasonable financial decision for you, then there is really no justifiable excuse to cheap out on tires. As the cliche goes it's where the rubber meets the road. Doesn't mean you have to go ultra high-end, but avoid no name brands. Some good suggestions in this thread.

Another thing to note on the Hankooks is they have a very quiet ride. When you're going with a 20" tire that has a low profile, the road noise can tend to be a little noisy sometimes. This was also a factor for me.

These gentlemen have given you some very high quality, yet reasonably priced tire options. Glad you'll take the info into consideration for your purchase. Tires are the most important part on any car. Good quality tires can save your life (handling, braking). A poor quality or worn tire can kill you; please always remember this.
