F30 Premium Sound Package worth it?

Put in my 328i order in and went with the Premium HK Sound Package. Question is, is it worth it?

Will it have enough bass? Should I think about getting a sub installed? I'm not going to be listening to much rap or anything, but I want to be able to hear John Entwhistle's colossal bass lines clearly and loudly.

Judging only by what I've heard in E90 setups I would say 'yes' but let me throw a caveat in there. The HK is good but not great - you can do better for not a whole lot more money but are you a good installer, is it worth the hassle, etc.? If you're happy with checking a box and throwing your money at it then yeah, go for it and it's a no-effort upgrade to better sound. If you want high end reproduction, I've heard aftermarket setups that sounded much better than the Logic 7 but they also involved pro installation and significantly more money.

For 950, go for it. The stock system in my 2011 328 is pretty fucking impressive, much better than the stock in my 2010 e90. No one has heard the stock in the F30, but premium sound is a must for me. need to bump avicii

I heard the stock system on Saturday and it wasn't too bad...the guy who was testing the car actually raved about it so it can't be terrible...but I'd still shell out the $900 for the full system personally...

I have the Logic7 in my current E90 325i (euro/aussie spec) and it has a very nice sound. Not super spectacular but very, very nice without taking up any interior (mainly boot/trunk) space a 3rd party high end system may have to if you want super deep bass & power.

I will option my F30 with the top line factory installed HK system.

I have my ipod in 95% of the time and on e90 the difference between standard and premium sound is like night and day. even with loaners that had standard stereo the radio sounded more crap.

I have no idea if the Premium HK sound in the F30 is anything like the Premium HK sound in our new MINI Countryman S or not, but I have to say I am a little disappointed in it. It sounds better than the standard audio, but it's a bit bass heavy and lacking in the mid-range, at least to my ears.

It would be nice to see and hear some video clips of the system inside the car, with or without Premium Sound Package.

Seeing the diffenernce would be nice. I think to appreciate the sound you would need to do it in person. Video does no justice to sound, imo.

And this would only be as good as the speakers on your computer and/or the microphone, probably on a phone, that records it, so it is unlikely to even be in stereo.

What if the same camera records it?

There are videos posted of the engine and exhaust notes from 328i and 335i. I can definitely tell the difference watching those videos from my laptop.

No I agree with him. The difference between the standard system and the Harmon system would only be appreciated hearing them directly (and feeling them - can we all say 'SUBWOOFERS UNDER THE FRONT SEATS IN THR HARMON SYSTEM')

High fidelity systems are definitely a good move in a top quality car
