Coding ASD in standard sound system
I have an 335d with the Harmon Kardon sound system and have coded the ASD for the M4 engine and upped the sound level from 3 to 6. I love it.
My mate just got his 335d (also pre LCI) and his does not have Harmon Kardon. Just coded his ASD to the same settings, but the sound hardly changed. I have read that the two sound systems are wired in differently to the ASD module. What do I need to do to get the volume up in his car? Do i just increase the sound level or I noticed that there is an option for type of sound system. I set mine to "high level sound system", but his was just on "stereo" |

OK.
My question really is for those that have coded non Harmon Kardon ASD. Is it just a case of upping the sound level? My system is loud at level 6 and his is very quiet. If I up his from 6 to 10 will that make a significant difference.? Is 10 the max level? |

Had coded both many times, depends of firmware ilevel you have different config in CAFD. Just choose one value up for volume and you will hear that.

Tried the M3 sound on Mine for A day but found it too intrusive and went back to 335xd.
Might try the 335 one next. Or am I getting too old

So I coded the ASD in my mates car with standard stereo. Problem..... The normal stereo volume has all but gone. You need to put the volume on max to hear it.
Anyone else had this problem? Last edited by DriveS; 02-04-2018 at 08:54 AM.. |

I just coded mine back to standard and it's a lot louder, so don't think mine will change to any other versions.

How can you find out if your car has ASD? I have a 2018 320I. I wanted to add a amp but I heard it will also amplify the ASD witch can be annoying.

Ive retrofit an asd in my f34 328i from 2014. But i cant seem to get it working.
Ive coded it to my car eject CAFD and then changed the settings to m3 didn't work at all. Then i used ista to read fault and it said the module coding isn't the car model so it doesn't work. Now i completlly reset the asd with ista vo coded the asd to my car and it still doesn't work now the error says invalid vehicle type. Anyone have any clue what the problem is and how to fix it? |
