Oregon Coast, Mt. Hood & Columbia Valley Road Trip
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com - Drive the entire coast (Hwy 101) from Aberdeen, WA to Crescent City, CA, crossing all of Oregon. Hit Crater Lake, Portland & the Columbia Valley on the return. - Watch Bayern Munich play the MLS All Stars August 6 in Portland. - Enjoy the 335i, scenery and have fun! Best pictures posted below from this fantastic round trip from Vancouver, BC. The countless twists & turns were a blast to drive in Sport mode and the car & tires held up well in truly the middle of nowhere, at times. State Capitol. Olympia, WA Astoria-Megler Bridge. Leads from Washington into Oregon. Looking back on the 4.1 mile bridge while stopped for construction. Coast Guard. Astoria, OR Seaside, OR Cannon Beach, OR Haystack Rock. Cannon Beach, OR Hwy 101 Hwy 101 Hwy 101 Port Orford, OR Outside of Newport, OR Apparently car ads are shot here.... Meyers Beach, OR Inside Jedediah Smith Redwood Park, OR Crater Lake (former volcano filled with water). Weather was not perfect, but it was still spectacular up at 7,857 ft max elevation. Crater Lake. Crater Lake. Portland for the Bayern Munich vs. MLS All Stars game. German Internationals / World Champions Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Götze and Müller. They only came on in the last 10 minutes but were unable to turn around the 2:1 lead from the All Stars. A silly match, but still incredible to see Bayern play in Portland (especially from the crazy Timber Army fan block...). Mt. Hood, OR Such fun (and empty) roads. What a privilege. Mt. Hood, OR Mt. Hood, OR Trillium Lake & Mt. Hood, OR Trillium Lake & Mt. Hood, OR Hood River Country Fruit Loop, keeping the wife happy Columbia River Gorge, WA side. Beside Maryhill Stonehenge (a replica of Stonehenge, but I took pictures of the F30 instead ) As close to its Bavarian home as my car will get again. Leavenworth, WA. The entire town is built like a Bavarian village (with added yodeling coming from speakers in the streets - someone thought this was a necessary touch ?!) Round trip from Vancouver, BC: 2,200 miles in 50h driving (10 days). 30mpg. Bonus picture on the Sea to Sky to Whistler after the trip and a much needed detail & wax package. Like new again. Wow! great photo journal, really beautiful locations, must have been a blast.
The F30 looked spotless in each shot, nice job. Where did you get your detailing done in Vancouver? |

Post-trip detailing I had done at Ultra Shine on 2nd Ave, "Exterior Detailing" package. They did an excellent job - removed all the paint swirls and bugs that were caked on for months and I couldn't get off. The shop does new car prep for the new Porsche Center Vancouver, it was worth going just to see all the Porsches getting ready for delivery

Yep, although it's a good ways from Astoria, OR where a lot of Goonies was filmed.

Great photos! We were just up in Portland in early September. Drove out the Historic Columbia River Hwy to a few of the falls, but didn't make it out to Mt Hood. Spent too much time eating all the great food in Portland Such an incredible area. Everywhere you look there's beautiful mountains and wooded trails.

The pics of your 335i may have single-handedly changed my mind about buying an F30 as my next car. I was going to look for something different, but your ride looks great and has changed my mind.

Beautiful pics, glad you enjoyed the PNW. The soccer game was a bit nuts but so worth seeing all the Germans especially after the World Cup. It's nice having Adidas NA Headquarters here as they are part owners of Bayern.

Great pics! and some great drivers roads. You were right by my house in Olympia, I live maybe 2 miles from the Capital. Leavenworth is great in the summer, even better around Christmas time. And like Jsaw said, Washington hasn't yet annexed Mt. Hood from Oregon.

What an awesome trip! And thanks for all those pictures, as a Texan, I am just shocked when I see the beauty that the PacNW has to offer. Really a top three region to visit when I get the time.
The car looks great in them too. Congrats.

What a reminder of how awesome the F30 looks with the 'regular' sport pack as opposed to the m sport that gets all the attention.
Great pictures.

iv just returned from a trip to Oregon. Such a beautiful place with all different kinds of scenery. Did you go to Maryhill loops hill climb track? I actually raced it in an e36 M3 while I was there. One of the best place's iv ever been and you got some amazing shots.
