F30 with F80 M3 Wheels.

Just sourced a set of 513m's and threw them on my 320I with sport package. I did the math prior to installing. On paper this setup looks very aggressive.

My original wheels were the 398s, fronts were 18x8 ET+34 and rears were 18x8.5 +47

The 513m's: Front 18x9 +29 with a 255 tire. The rear 18x10 +40 with a 275 tire.

The difference between 513m's and 398's:
The rear pushes out +26mm over stock 398's, so about an inch and the front is 18mm, 3/4in from stock. I was worried but got a hell of deal on the M3 wheels so I couldn't pass them up.

The weight of the wheels is incredibly low. I don't have exact measurements, but it felt like at least 7lbs per corner and that's with wider wheels and tires. Very impressive, the original wheels almost hurt my back getting them off and stacked.

Driving impression: At first you don't really feel anything. But once you get up in speed the you definitely notice a sharper turn in and tighter steering. This is due to the width of the tires, and the Michelin PS2 plus tires. After the install I took a windy road by my house and was blown away at how much better the car handled with just wheels and tires. In addition, there was zero rubbing during spirited driving and regular parking lot maneuvers.

Finally what you have been waiting for, pictures. My car is all stock. I will be ordering H&R Sport and installing them. I'll update this thread. If you have any questions, please post them here and I will try to answer them best I can.

They look super small for some reason. I know they are 18's, but wow.

I have 18s on my f36 and 19's are the perfect size. From afar, 18's look small. Eyeing on 19 m3 wheels.

I'm more performance oriented, so I wanted the 18's. I don't mind the size, i like the race car look.

I swapped 1 rear 19" wheel from my brothers M4 onto my 435I, no thanks. Too much tire past the fender for my tastes.

That's because the 18" M3/M4 rear tires have 3/4" bigger outsider diameter than stock 18" 255/40/R18 tires. More tire makes the same 18" wheel look smaller vs. a (stock F30) lower profile tire.

If you are performance oriented, you must have realize you've messed with your steering geometry, suspension geometry, traction control, as well as speedometer settings by going with bigger wheels not designed for your car.

I was about thinking the same. Performance oriented and chose the 320?

To each his own but IMO the new wheels and tires looks spectacular. Can you share the exact tires specs?

You're absolutely wrong. Suspension geometry is not ruined with wheels. If anything I gained a wider track. In addition, how is traction control effected or my spedo when the wheels are a little bit wider and a hair larger in rolling diameter... The wheels may be wider but the rolling diameter is almost the same. I think you should brush up your knowledge a little bit, because you might as well tell everyone on this forum that if you go with aftermarket wheels or anything larger than stock, you fucked up. Lastly, do you really think BMW programs cars differently if they install 17's, 18's or 19's, absolutely not.

Everyone rolls on a different budget. But what I can tell you is the 320i with no options is a light car and is more than enough for me. It's also my commute car that I drive 30+ miles in. I don't need to waste 300hp in traffic.

I like balance and most of all handling. It's not as nose heavy as the 335i.

275/40/18 and 255/40/18

The ride is very compliant and the grip is phenomenal.

No, I had a buddy who had these laying around. It's on the bucket list.

Springs are on order. Should have the car lowered by the end of next week. I will update with better pictures.

Do you really want to be those guys ? It may not have been your intention but it sounds like snobbery.
I do not care about the displacement of someone's engine if he is happy and enthusiast about his car. We may or may not like the OP's wheels option and forums are there for expressing opinions and getting feedback -good or bad-, but this ticked me off.

Thanks. I was feeling the same. I can't figure out where all the hate for the 320I came from.

Maybe it's not about the 320i at all. Maybe some people think it just looks silly with all that rubber hanging out past the fender......
