So the mics with only analog connection to computer, such as my imm-6, will not work with AFT DSP PC-Tools.

A calibrated mic will come with its calibration file which describes its measurement errors at different frequencies. By placing this file (cal.txt) under PC-Tools installation directory any measurement error from the associated mic will be traumatically compensated or corrected during the RTA process.
Did they actually say that? I have a calibration file but didn't see where it would take it..

Good call! I just created the file for my mic, and it doesn't look like any changes would be needed though -- see attached for the file.

I used it as a base to do my own tuning of it.

This is for the F36 Grand Coupe with stock hifi 676 speakers and the bimmertech pp82 dsp amp. While mine is left-hand drive, I had the levels/timings match symmetrically to work with both LHD and RHD.

*Update* 9/4/17 Slightly adjusted center timing more and RTA'd/revised again; most likely the final revision and removing the "car centered tune" as this one has so much more hours for refinement after learning more. Also attaching the external sub file since devil84 requested it.
I finally tested your file. Great work. It's even better than before .

devil84 I think it would be somewhat of a challenge to improve your specific system's tune without having the same components. That said, if any of them (such as your Eton's) components have detailed specifications and/or measurement charts, this might help determine crossover points.

What did you change on your own specifically?

Hiya

i have reverted back to your file with sub as think i messed around with it too much.

I have these eton speakers for the front

This trunk sub:

http://www.jlaudio.co.uk/cp108lg-w3v...-systems-93133

anything you recommend me to change or i guess its hard to tune remotely.

I find i keep playing around with the tune and think its got better but after a few changes - it can sound worse.

What you think ?

Nelson@BimmerTech Does the V3.40a work with the updated tune for 3.20a. I upgraded to 3.40a and the tune file sounds worse than it did for the version 2 I had previously.

Am I not loading the file correctly. Please, can you walk me through how to load the file for version 3.40a?

Thanks

I figured it out. I downloaded the file from a link provided by nelson29 who has been banned. I was thinking it was Bimmertech's Nelson. Thanks!

My tune file for F30 with HiFi speakers

The attachment is the tune file for my US-version 2013 F30 equipped with the original HiFi speakers plus an HK center tweeter, moonroof, leatherette upholstery, WeatherTech floor liners. As the starting point, I used foveon's tune file which uniquely has its center channel signal generated from out-of-phase left and right channels. I modified it by adjusting the time alignments of the front and center speakers for the driver position. With my own simple RTA setup I also individually EQed and level-balanced all channels for the driver position. So this is a driver-oriented tune file which is good for the driver-only situation. With scarifying a bit in sound imaging for the driver moving two or three clicks towards the driver side in Balance under TONE adjustment can make the passenger sitting next to you less overwhelmed by the front speakers on his/her side. The tune file is made with V3 tool. Enjoy!

Any files out there with a little more bass with ghost sub woofer and bimmertech amp on stock hifi speakers.

I like my current set up using one of the files here but I need alittle more bass on lower volume and for it to respond faster. Thanks in advanced.

Hello

I just received my PP86DSP from Bimmertech, Im using the V4 tool with some of the presets posted here, they sound great until I reach half of the volume, after that, the mids and tweeters start to crack. Has someone made a preset for the 86DSP and V4 tool. My car is a LHD F30, hi-fi, stock speakers and subs.

Opening up your file you have Channel's F, G and H all listed as SUBWOOFER. Are F and G just the smaller under seat woofers and H is your external Sub?

I know the name doesn't matter but just wondering why EVERYONE'S tunes all want to call the under seat woofers, subwoofers???

This tune is not perfect by far, so please try it out and feel free to provide any feedback.

Thanks.
Very helpful, I added an extra touch on the frequency cuts and reconfigured the IO for the PP86DSP and all the stock HiFi speakers, with:

A - front L full
B - front R full
C - rear L full
D - rear R full
E - center full
F - subwoofer 1 (L)
G - subwoofer 2 (R)
and H, I unassigned

Edit: made a few more frequency adjustments.
