335is Purchase

Member of this forum for 8 years and 2 335i(s). I need your help. I currently drive a Subaru outback, since I had to sell my last 335i to relocate to Northern Virginia. I'm looking to buy a 335is this weekend, and I need a referral. The car is out of warranty, and is an IS (I don't think turbos have extended warranty since those are N54 11-13] so I want someone that can come with me to the dealer and do a PPI. The car is in Northern Virginia, where I live. Please recommend someone. Thanks in advance, and administrator, move to appropriate section if this is not. Thanks!

You don't need to bring anyone with you. Any reputable dealer will allow you to take the car to a shop of your choice to have the PPI done. I've done this with a couple of used cars I was thinking about buying at two different dealerships.

A number of years ago it cost me $250 to bring a car to an independent for a PPI. So worth the cost -- not just things currently wrong, lots of soft information of things that will need to be fixed/replaced in 10K, 20K, 50K miles. My indy even gave me a final buy/no buy recommendation. (It was buy and I bought it).

There was a thread this week with a lot of praise for GT Peace in Sterling, along with a few other shops that people have had good luck with.
