How to install H6W parking light LED.

Hi guys. I just bought the LED parking lights from IJDMTOY. I heard the resistors get really hot so I coded the cold/warm checks out. How do i install them without the resistors? The base of the LED will not fit straight into the socket

What do you mean by "parking light"? Is it your indicators, fogs, brake lights, reverse lights ?

With or without resistors they should install the same way, as resistors aren't part of the bulb. If the LED doesn't fit into the socket chances are it's the wrong LED.

I think they are talking about this.

You will have to find a different bulb unless you can cut out the resister and put the wires back together to make it work again. The base of the bulb alone is totally different than the stock socket.

The parking bulb is the one that's closest to the grills. I just replaced mine and I just made sure the resisters are away from everything.

I would put a little bit of lube on the black rubber part before you push it into where the bulb mounts. It will make it much easier and when I did it with out any I pushed the adjustment of the headlights out of wack and had to readjust it.

So many puns in that sentence I just used lol

This is what mine looks like with them installed.

Yes those are what i was talking about. I was reading another post about it and the guy said he got rid of the resistors after he coded them out, but never said anything about getting entirely new bulbs. I just installed them without the resistors, hopefully it doesn't burn anything

The reason for the resistors is that LEDs don't appear as a normal load to the computer, so it throws out a 'no bulb' warning. The resistor is wired parallel to the LED, and as it has the same electrical resistance as a regular bulb the computer thinks it is a bulb and doesn't throw a warning. The resistor also gets hot just like a regular bulb, so it needs to be secured where that heat won't cause a problem. If you code your iDrive so that it knows you have LEDs it won't throw a warning and the resistor isn't required.

Update: Went ahead and installed them with resistors and they look amazing. Made sure you ziptie the resistor in a way so that they don't touch anything.
