Auto window malfunction

When trying to close the window on the front driver side with the auto function, the window rolls up all the way to the top and then rolls right back down halfway. What's wrong with it now? It seems like the F30 has all kinds of little issues going on.

In my volkswagen, this exact problem was caused by a window pressure sensor being miscalibrated.

It thinks your hand or arm is in the window and backs off to keep from chopping them off. The sensor needs to know where the top of the window is correctly so it knows its not your fingers.

It gets better once the top window track loosens up.

Had the same problem. It turned out to be a bad motor.

Talked to the service advisor over the phone. He told me how to recalibrate the window. Now it opens and closes fine, but the one touch auto closing function is lost, I have to hold/pull the button until the window is closed. Will bring the car in when I have time.

Had this happen several times. Just got back from the dealer after their 3rd attempt to fix it. I was also experiencing the windows not rolling up at all and when you pulled up on the switch, the window would go down vs. up.

They said it was bad switches and replace all 4.

I just tried it again while I was driving home, and the auto up/close window function is working now. Really strange.

This happened to my back window last year and it turned out to be the motor they said. This week it's my drivers window and I'm giving it to the dealer tomorrow so it might be another bad motor. Minor issues are expected with every first or 2nd year of a car life cycle.
