Just got a reply from BMW UK...
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com "I can advise you that Sport is a budget specification trim, so is only offered in the smaller engined models. The BMW 328i and BMW 335i will be available as an M Sport when that trim launches a few months after the car does." So there you go! The Sport Line is the "budget" spec. Luxury it is for me then as I probably can't hold on for the M Sport. That is if we get a 328i... But it is looking extremely likely!!

So the "Sport Line" is the only Line that will offer M Sport (see other posts) but is their budget model.
The info to date on all this is so ridiculous... |

Here in the good ol' USA, the Sport Line doesn't require the Premium Package, but the Modern and Luxury Lines do, so I guess you could call it "budget" here in the US as well.
If you could call anything by BMW "budget". Ha! |

Budget means a whole different thing in the UK. The prices there for BMW strippers translated to dollars is through the roof. That's another reason they sell more budget-y models such as the 320D.

Budget model? Does 335i count as a budget model? U can get either of the 3 design lines for 335i in Germany, or just the basic spec (i.e. same appearance as UK's SE spec).
It depends on what u want from the Sport model, if it's the interior scheme then u have no alternative. Exterior styling it've very similar to Modern Line apart from the rims & the fog lamp grill inserts. Dynamically there's no difference between the lines as they all come with standard suspension. If all u want is just a good drive then just get the SE & spec it with adaptive M suspension & possibly variable sports steering as well, & retrofit the M aerodynamic kit later on. The only unique item so far that's specific to the M sport seems to be the steering wheel, but I found it looked ugly. |
