Best N20 stock exhaust modification(s)?
Let's face it, this car is never going to sound AMAZING, but I know for sure that it can at least MAKE sound; because stock, it is dead fucking quiet.
I'm not quite ready to spend $1400 on an exhaust, so what are people generally doing to the stock setup to make it sound better; downpipes aside?

resonator delete i've seen where somebody actually cut open the muffler and did a whole bunch of mods to the baffles and pipes within, then welded it back up. you can also get a used 335i axleback and diffuser with slight modifications the most reasonably priced axle-back is the active autowerke signature $650ish or less if you hunt around. if i were you, i'd just fork out $800ish for the M-Performance exhaust (less for used one in the member classifieds) and call it a day... You need at least an axle back for the car to sound good.
Active Autowerke is our most popular option and it is very reasnably priced Another more aggressive option is the REMUS exhaust

I went with the MPE as I didn't want any issues with my warranty and didn't want anything super loud. Very happy with it. Did the install myself and made a DIY with audio clips.
Second option was Active.

for turbo engines in general, the best upgrade is a downpipe. you get good gains, good sound, quiet at a cruise and eases pressure off the turbo. |

LOL.And yet it's still a turbo 4...smh.
I'd prefer the stock silence to all that mess.
