Jb Tune installed n55

really more of a 40-100 but you get the point. really brings the car alive. not quite the jb4 tune for the n54 but its well worth the money and makes the stock car seem slow in comparison. Easier than plugging in a new tv to a media center.

Nice man, glad you like it. Appears to pull way harder up top which is where the stock tune fell on its face... Did you only plug in 2 of the connectors? Looking to pick this up in the near future

Too bad we can't program the auto to shift earlier as dynos show the car is dropping power around 6k rpm. Shifting at redline keeps it out of where it makes the most power unfortunately.

The video shows an analog real time MPG indicator. My 335i is digital. What type of F30 335i do you have? Do you not have Nav?

I am debating about getting the Burger Stage 1 and am trying to educate myself via this and other boards. The E90 board has harsh words for the JB4. While other boards are glowing about the JB4. Very confusing and hard to make a decision. Procede's box is suppose to come out shortly. Though, I'm beginning to lean towards the Burger Stage 1 from a cost standpoint. Did you buy any of the CAN reset stuff?

What kind of harsh words does the other board have about JB?

You have to understand the e90 forum is basically a procede forum and n54tech is the Jb forum. People hate on jb4 because its cheaper and some of the feature were available on the procede first. I personally love the Jb tunes. I had a jb4 on my e90 and it was amazing no issues at all. The support if you have any issues installing or questions the customer service is the best you will experience with any product, he gets back to you in 5 minutes usually.

Yes just the 2 connectors. I had to take it in to service today, I literally pulled across the street and uninstalled in under a minute.

There is nothing wrong with Procede or the BMS JB4. I personally perfer BMS products because they make piggys for all types of BMW's and I find there products top notch. Not to mention you cant beat the price!

Man don't listen to guys on e90post they are all procede(Shiv) groupies, same thing with n54tech but people are a little less attacking. Both the procede and JB are great products for the e90. The JB4 gets flack because the procede came out with certain features before the JB4, and the JB4 does the same thing for cheaper. I had the actual jb4 tune for my e90 and it was amazing. The install was about 100 times harder than the tune for the F30. FYI this is called a F30 JB(juice box) stage 1 tune. Stage 2 will come out soon. JB4 is the stage 4 jb for the e90.
Overall I love Terry, his customer service is the best you will ever experience from any product. He gets back to you within 5 minutes usually. The install for this product is a joke, like screwing in a lightbulb, in 2 very specific spots. No tools required. For code clearing I had my CAN tool from my e90.

I have a 335i M Sport w/out nav, so it doesnt have the extended cluster. Bothered me at first, but thats not why I bought the car... Pull the trigger on the JB tune, unless you want to pay more for the same thing. I would find it very hard for a person to not be extremely happy with this product. I was worried for a while because of the lack of support at the moment, but really there is no support because it is so damm easy. If you have any questions really just pick up the phone and call Terry, hes really cool.

+1
I had the JB4 (stage 1 then 2) for 2 years on my N54 135i. Never any problems and great support from the BMS forum.

Based on the dyno chart for stock n55 in the f30s, I guess the ideal shift point would be around 6500-6600 rpm since the peak power happens around 6000 rpm.

Thanks. I thought the E90 forum was very pro Procede and N54Tech pro BMS or at least from what I've read. It's difficult for a newbie who's trying to do the proper research to sift through everything. From what I can tell (and I'm sure I'm way over simplifying things), Procede rewrites the timing maps whereas BMS uses the stock timing maps. Both systems fiddle with boost parameters and use the knock sensor to adjust the timing parameters accordingly. I'm unsure how each affects fuel delivery. I probably have it wrong so if someone can correct me that would be great.

On your CAN tool, do you use your laptop? What software interface do you use?

Thanks again!

If you do a search of this vs that, you will find a few threads talking about it. My goal is to understand the differences as opposed to getting caught up in the mud slinging.

Yea that's why I don't bother searching. I did once and that was enough. Obviously some opinionated folks out there!
