Leather Care

I searched around on the Aussie forum and couldn't quite find a thread dedicated to leather care. They may have being replies here and there though. If there was a solid discussion, please direct me to it.

I optioned for Merino leather in my car and thus would like to provide it with the best possible protection but at the same, I wish to keep it looking & smelling natural. I don’t mind having to reapply product once month or so.

So far, I've settled on the Swissvax Leather Cleaner and Milk set. Does anyone here have experience with said product? Apparently, it’s odorless and does not alter the original appearance of the leather.

Don't you think the Zaino stuff gives off too much ordour for brand new leather? I love the BMW leather smell so I'd never want some random product smell to distort it :P

Are you kidding me? You've obviously never been up close to a merino sheep!

Well my new car smell has completely gone after 35k km and the smell doesnt bother me as much as the feel and grip of the leather. I have a small figure so when i get into other leather seated cars that have been treated by some other brand, i hear squeeks and slide all over the seat at every corner

All leather smell gone by 35k km, really? My friends 2006 e90 still has the original leather smell despite having 60k-70k km on the clock. Being a 320i we're guessing its just sensatec leather so maybe that prolongs the smell?

That's really good value for $18. How much was postage.

I bought a bag of doz rubbish MF cloths from autobarn and that costed me 21 too. I only use then to clean plastic and other robust surfaces.

The pre-LCI E90 320's had either cloth/leather combination upholstery, or dakota leather (standard on Executive models). So if there's no cloth inserts, then they would be 100% leather.

Interesting, cos my friend and I both thought it was sensatec. The "leather" feels really really hard and you feel and see the raised pattern on the seats. Although the new BMW leather smell is very strong still despite his general neglect.
