325i E90 v 328i F30 Quick Comparison
So I've had my AT 328i for just over 1 week. Magnificent car. So different to my AT E90. Easily adjusted to the F30. So I'm selling the E90 privately to a very lucky buyer and as I hadn't driven the 325i since I took delivery of the 328i, I took it for a quick spin this morning.
Oh WOW what a difference in steering wheel weighting. The F30 is as light as a feather compared to the E90 OR the E90 is as heavy as a lead balloon compared to the F30. Take your pick!!! When I started off in the E90, I had to twist and turn a little to exit the car park. Just for a very brief moment, I thought the E90's power steering had failed!!! No joke, it was that heavy in comparison. I had a big laugh, but after a min or so, it was business as usual with the E90. E90 Standard seats vs F30 Sports seats. F30 wins hands down. Engine sound under reasonable throttle - well under any throttle. E90 by a LARGE factor. No comparison. The in line 6 is a GEM. Acceleration in the E90 is so immediate & coupled with the Power Box, it really pulls hard. The F30 on the other hand is still being run in but because of the swift & smooth 8 speed AT changing gears quickly, the acceleration is linear, rather than fierce. F30 Fierce will come soon enough. E90 Logic7 v F30 h/k. Very, very similar. Both great. Not enough comparison time this morning to really gauge standout difference. 2 very different, competent cars. Just a quick seat of the pants comparison. That's all.
