Paddle Retrofit

While some people seem to have investigated this, I haven't really seen any solid results of someone retrofitting paddles to their f30.

I have successfully coded to enable SAT (2TB) so that my gear shows S1, S2, S3, etc... while the shift lever is in sport mode, but could not get the paddles to work.

I have the steering wheel with paddles, but does anyone have clear directions in terms of wiring and such to retrofit paddles?

Look for the thread Sport+Coding, at page 3, if I'm not wrong, the user Timur described what is needed.
I followed the steps and it's fully functional.

Bvt13....how do you like the SAT? Do you notice a difference (besides the fact that it reads S1, S2, etc.) compared to your regular 8AT? I personally don't care about the paddles, but I want the more aggressive, crisper shifting if it makes a difference.

I'm surprised a 335i wouldn't have 2TB with paddles stock in the US. Here in Canada, it's standard on any N55 equipped car.

I retrofitted the M Sport Steering wheel to mine and the coding wasn't enough to get it to work. We had to run a wire from the steering ring over to FEM_BODY since that pin wasn't populated.

Since you have a 335i, I don't know if the pre-wiring is already there. Did you VO code EGS, GWS, ICM and FEM_BODY with 2TB on your FA?

You can find out about it here.

I hear ya. My 2011 F10 535i with M-Sport Package, which for 2011 the M-Sport option was $7500 as it included both Adaptive Drive and Dynamic Drive, came without the $500 2TB SAT Option, and I had to retrofit both the Paddles and Gear Shift.

Wow, you retrofitted the paddles too? Did you have to replace the entire steering wheel like how I did mine or can the paddles be added onto the existing steering wheel?

I had to replace the whole steering wheel, as the base for the paddles is molded into the wheel itself.
