This is what I did to try to activate BMW Live and what I remembered to change back in bold to get back BMW Assist, but must still have a few settings incorrect, since it's not working:

Hu_cic-3003 Telefon telematic online
DUN_profile = activ
PAN_Profile = activ
BT_data_service = activ
Online_browser = nur_bmw_internet_aktiv
ONLINE_BROWSER_LIVE->aktivchange back to nonactive
Online_services_gls = activchange back to nonactive
Online_services = activchange back to nonactive
CDMM_bt_database = activ

Combox_media-3006 Telematik
Sim_enabled_mb = Csimchange back to psim
Combox_media-3000 General
mainboard alone = mainboard alone
ethernet = activchange back to nonactive

If Shawn or anyone have the original settings for BMW Assist, I would appreciate feedback. Thank you.
I had you inject new CAFD in your FEM_BODY, because you corrupted yours.

For resetting BMW Assist, I told you to simply VO Code the Head Unit and Combox by right-clicking on the ECU (not the CAFD), and selecting code. So why are you trying to retrieve and replace their CAFD's?

I misunderstood you. Will try again what you have suggested. Thank you.

Every time I try to modify something under FEM_BODY, I get the out of memory error. Everything else codes without any errors. Is there a setting to increase the memory buffer or is it something about my laptop?

Here is the error:

Transaktions-Report: Aktion: FDL Codieren

Abort!
No more memory available! Please restart E-Sys with more memory. [C150]

Help with coding issue

Finally I got the cable, I have E-sys 3.23.4 and 50.4 data. Working on a 328Xi 2013, everything works fine (connection, vin read VO and SVT etc..) Read coding data works fine and shows subfolders of the ALL CAF while connected. Save the FA and SVT, backup of the NCD as usual and then disconnect from car OK. The problem I am having is when I load the saved SVT and FA with no connection to the car, I see only the green dots at the CAFD but no subfolders that can be edited also (edit FDL) is grayed out, WHAT am I doing wrong? I did not try to edit the subfolders while connected, but I think it can be done. Any help is appreciated.

You need to do off-line viewing/editing in "Editors & Viewers -> FDL Editor", not in "Expert Mode -> Coding".

In the FDL-Editor mode, you can load the .ncd file and explore / edit without being connected to the car.

You will need to have a map of which .ncd ECU numbers map the the ECU name (like 000794 -> FEM_BODY, 00000F9 is HU_CIC, etc) as the .ncd files don't tell you which ECU they are via the file name. You can just load each .ncd file one by one and the editor will show you the ECU name at the top of the tree.

Shawn, your tip did the trick. Was able to update the FEM_BODY by doubling the memory. Thank you.

Question Blinking LED in Mirror

I heard that it is possible to code the blinking LED in the rear view mirror in F30 as all have this even if they do are not equipped with the alarm system.

1) Can this be confirmed?
2) What are the coding details if so?

Hey Shawn,

I was thinking that for folding mirrors you have just to code(or ask the dealer), but now I understand that some mechanics shall be installed in the mirrors. Is that right? how to check whether the car is capable of folding in the mirrors eventually?

Power Fold Mirrors are part of S430A Interior/outside mirror with auto dip. The mirrors obviously have to have electric motors in them, but I do not know what else is needed?

S430A is standard equipment on U.S. Spec'd F30. Is it not for European Spec'd F30?

I don't have an alarm but I do have that giant clear thing under my rearview. It would be great if this blinked when I locked my car. I'm with you, I'd like to know if this is possible.
