I have not heard of any and we've probably sold 1000+ units over the N54/N55 platform.

Only time a code pops up with an FMIC or CP install is if the couplers are not tightened down, usually with FMICs on the cold side and it just pops off triggering a boost under code. Beyond that nothing I have seen.

If installed correctly, it will not trigger any lights. Are you getting any codes after installation of the CP and / or FMIC?

Have both, and neither have triggered anything.

If you don't tighten the clamps enough it can through some boost leak codes.

The biggest painin the ass will be disconnecting the factory charge pipe from the intercooler. What I did was take a tiny scredriver and pop it under the connection then with both hands push and wiggle the tabs towards the front of the car. Once its off. I would pull the charge pripe through the the tiny hole. its not hard once youve done it once.

PS no beed to disconnect the other side of the intercooler.

Hey Mike - with just a Jb4 no other mods on 93 octane is a CP needed, or only if you are going downpipes, tracking the car, E85 etc

It is always recommended to upgrade the CP when tuning the car but from my experience with our customers it is only mandatory if you are running map 2 or higher boost

These fail stock, so I usually tell customers once you tune a charge pipe should be on the list for future mods. Do you have to do it right away, probably not, but by raising boost you are putting more stress on component that has been show to be failure prone.

I would never call it a MANDATORY upgrade but one that is highly recommended.

For the ix models, I found it easier to pull the original charge pipe from the top. You'll have to remove the black plastic cover on the driver side (one screw). Took me 5 minutes from the top vs 20min thru the bottom.
