Update available for BMW ConnectedDrive

There is an update available. Go to this site and type in the last 7 digits of your VIN. Its supposed to improve Bluetooth operation. I installed it last night but havent had a chance to try it out.

Not sure if I should do this update... It says: This update is valid for vehicles with production date from July 2012 to February 2014.
But my car is built after Feb 2014. When I enter my Vin, it did direct me to download UPD05062 (23.1 MB). I guess I'll have to check what version I already have.

Edit: And also iPhone 6 is not listed under their supported device...

Yes, when you enter your VIN you will see two different updates. It pointed me to the one for my car. I did it...no issues.

Cool... But looks like iPhone 6 is not supported.
I just downloaded and extracted, do I just throw the "whole folder" into the USB drive?

Dont extract it. Leave the .bin file on the top level of your usb stick. I plugged mine into the center console USB and the when I selected Software Update from iDrive it found the update without any issues even though I had a bunch of other files on the USB stick.

You put the bin file in the root directory of the USB drive. Idrive will find it if your car is able to use it. If not, it will say there's no upgrade available.

Note that in my case I had a March 14 production car but it still did not work because my NBT firmware was too old (NBT_B) in my case.

Had to have the dealer update the integration level.

How come the "OK" button on that site is greyed out for me? I tried it in both Chrome and Firefox browsers.

You put in your VIN and then with your cursor still in the text box hit the <Enter> key. The thingy will spin and then you'll get your "OK" button.

Already up to date it says. Which sucks since BT sucks. Mine doesn't pull album art for some reason. It pulls art with USB.

Mine also sucks. Pulls the info (including album art) from the first track I play and gets stuck on it for the rest of the time no matter what song I'm on. When plugged in it also doesn't work well except when you are within the spotify app.

Same here... Will let you know if it changes after I apply my update.

UPDATE: Just applied the update- didn't notice any differences. Still no BT album art...

This. It's the worst.

Side question: if you have accessed an app such as Pandora or Spotify through ConnectedDrive, how in the world do you change apps?? If I have accessed an app, the only option available to me is Connection Assistant. Is this normal, awful behavior?
