Anyone know where this string is so that I can correct it? I'm striking out searching under E-Sys. Or should I just reinstall E-Sys running from the C: drive of the VM?

You probably need to map a drive letter to "\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\Esys" if you're going to install it there. Under the tools menu on explorer (maybe, depending on the guest os running in the vm).

No. Your issues is your patch / token is not installed correctly. You have to replace the two java files with the patched versions, and you have to set E-Sys EST options to point to your .EST Token file.

Thanks, JesseS. Close. So, to be clear, I could not run E-Sys. It would failed to start with the error I showed above. What I did was under Virtual Machine >> Sharing >> Sharing Settings... I hit the + sign and created a folder named Esys.

Would prefer to track down the faulty config point, but this got me up and coding tonight

It codes into the system, but the functionality hasn't appeared in idrive. It makes me wonder if some FDL coding is needed on MY2014 cars.

At least 3-4 people have been able to code 6NS successfully just by altering the VO as per the instructions.

Here's my VO as read from the ECU. I also tried adding Internet, which also codes across fine but doesn't appear in Idrive, although to be honest I don't know if this works just by adding it to the VO.

After you added 6NS to your VO, did you VO code the HU_NBT? (it's not clear from the above posts that you did). If not, then you need to do that to enable the 6NS features.

Right click the HU_NBT CAFD in the SVT list, and select Code instead of Read Coding Data.

Could you please PM with the correct software and instructions for obtaining a token?

Thanks!
Same thing here after recent service. Can I get the same info pls.

odd question..maybe someone will be able to help me out..

One of my PDC sensors was hit by a rock or something and now my PDC doesnt work. the part is unavailable right now so i am wanting to see if there is a way to take that one sensor out of the system so that the rest of them will work. There are a ton of PDC settings in the REM module but i dont see anything that looks like it will do what i want.

Is there a limit number of times you can code the DME? Also, how long does it usually take to code the entire SVT tree?

I was trying to code 6NS to my 6NH. When I did the vo coding and then clicked Hu_entry cadf code, head unit went out black and it closed saying "no signal". Then I thought maybe I should change it to 6nk. Now the cadf completely disappeared under the hu_entry and my headunit keeps on restarting. Only BMW logo appears then it turns off. What should I do? Help me :'(

AFAIK, 6NS is only applicable to HU_NBT.

If you have HU_ENTRY or HU_CIC (with the combox), then you want to change 6NH to 6NK.

Ouch, looks like you corrupted the ECU. You're probably going to have to inject the CAFD again and see if you can recover from there.

Also, HU_ENTRY is not compatible with 6NS. You need HU_NBT for 6NS or HU_CIC for 6NK.

If this does not work, you can always take it back to the dealer and pretend you don't know anything. They should be able to fix it by flashing the firmware back in.

But I cant. I already changed vo back to its original 6nh. But hu_entry does not have cadf when expanded.

That's a relief. Thanks. Do you know how to inject cadf?

Here's the procedure (just change the references from FEM_BODY to HU_ENTRY):

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=3018

This post has a link to a .pdf with an alternate method to do this.

For weather, you need bmw live and therefore you need a combox. If you're on basic bluetooth and HU_ENTRY, you don't have the necessary hardware/options to enable it via coding.
