Guys out of respect to the forum and the other vendors we will wait until we get the OK to pm or post prices. BUT I will say this we are coming in with tiered group buy pricing that gets lower the more people join in. The price will be very palatable I assure you, as our goal is to get these first 20 out there so you can all see how well made and how much performance these intercoolers provide!
If you look at the past Intercoolers we have designed for the BMW, Mini and Abarth we are always at the top of the intercooler heap! We hope to get the vendor accounts up ASAP and get the ball rolling on these! |

Guys we just paid our vendor fees and we are ready to go, waiting on the vendor account to kick in and we will post the GB but here's the pricing for those that expressed interest.
GB will run for 6 weeks pricing will be: MSRP-$849 + shipping Group Buy Pricing $719 + shipping This reserves an Intercooler for this production run of which we have 2 ready to ship and 15 more at the sandblaster. If anyone wants one of the 4 on the shelf PM me! Last edited by TurboBullett@Ambient Thermal Management; 09-11-2014 at 01:56 PM.. |

We placed pressure and temperature sensors in the charge pipes before and
after the intercooler. These same points/sampling areas were the same between the factory intercooler and ours. The only thing that changed was our direct fit intercooler upgrade. These sensors were wired up to our data logger so that we may precisely read and log the intercoolers' performance. Datalogs: **SIDE NOTE: pressure and temperature have a somewhat linear relationship in air. As pressure increases, so does temperature. As temperature decreases, so does pressure (PV=nRT). If an intercooler is efficient at decreasing temperature it may appear as though it is not efficient at flowing air (low pressure drop). This is due to the congruent decrease in air pressure as the air is cooled. It is hard to quantify how much of the pressure drop is due to temperature reduction and how much is due to airflow restriction because the air pressure and temperature changes exist in the same vessel (system) at the same time. The factory core is light and cannot "bank" cold temperature. As a result it heat soaks quickly but also recovers quickly. Test 1 The data log below is a comparison between the F30 328 stock intercooler vs. the ATM intercooler. The scenario was set to log charge air temperatures and pressure before and after the intercoolers for three back to back third gear pulls. The probe locations are at the same place for both intercoolers tested. Ambient temperatures are 55°F during the stock intercooler test and 53°F during the ATM intercooler test. Chart Legend: The red line indicates the charge temperature before the intercooler. The blue line indicates the charge temperature after the intercooler. The black line is charge pressure before the intercooler. The green line is charge pressure after the intercooler. Results are Real World Gains: Pressure (Delta P) pre vs. post intercooler are near identical between the two intercoolers, ranging between .05-.15 psi. Temperature (Delta T) pre vs. post intercooler are very different. The pre intercooler temperature was 224°F for both intercoolers. The peak post stock intercooler temperature was 48.7°F above the 55°F ambient temperature @ 103.7°F resulting in 71% efficient. The peak post ATM intercooler temperature was 15.3°F over the 53°F ambient @ 68.3°F resulting in 91% efficient. Test 2 The next data log below is a comparison between the F30 328 stock intercooler vs. the ATM intercooler. In this scenario we tested the intercoolers in a standing start to top of 4th gear pull. Results: Again the Pressure (Delta P) pre vs. post intercooler are near identical between the two intercoolers. Again Temperature (Delta T) pre vs. post intercooler are very different. The pre intercooler temperature was 223.8°F for the stock intercooler. The peak post stock intercooler temperature was 45.2°F above the 55°F ambient temperature @ 100.2°F resulting in 72% efficient. The pre intercooler temperature was 222.3°F for the ATM intercooler. The peak post ATM intercooler temperature was 8.9°F over the 53°F ambient @ 61.9°F resulting in 94% efficient. Install: Requires NO cutting, removal and/or permanent modification Utilizes factory mounting points- Yes The datalogs and information shared on this thread is the intellectual property of ATM and may NOT be used without the expressed written permission of ATM |

We got rid of the Tiered pricing in the Group Buy and went with the lowest price of $719 across the board I'll paypal you the difference from what you paid today! Hope you like the quality and performance of the Intercooler and please feel free to review it
