Those cup holders sucked no matter what size drink you put in it. Flimsy.

Mine works fine. Just have to find the right spot and it works every time once you do.

The key is to have your toe pointed up to the sky as you kick. Kicking it like you would a soccer ball will not work.

I find it's more a matter of being far enough from the bumper. I am able to do it every time directly behind the license plate at a safe distance, or in my garage I stand off to the left since I don't have enough room for safe distance between bumper and the garage door. Basically just can't put your foot too far under the car, just a wave under the bumper. If you hit the gas tank, you've gone too far lol

Only thing I don't like about this car is the massive volume of its owners complaining about nonsense, insisting everything should be perfect for xx,xxx amount of money. Guess what, what's perfect for you isn't perfect for everyone. And further, 40,000, 50,000 etc isn't what it used to be. Go online and build a Nissan maxima then see how "exclusive" your 40k or 50k car is these days.

1. Lack of a tasteful front license plate holder.
2. Why can't the key fob functionality be integrated into my phone's bluetooth or else the fob be smaller?
3. An 8-month lag before the iPhone 5 cradle is ready??
4. Drop the CD player, and music on a built-in hard drive? that's useless complexity.
5. Simplify the computer interface and verbal commands - everything has 5 ways of doing things.

Overall, a great car, though.

But the Americans - the were greatly displeased, because as we know, they do everything bigger. Food, drink, people, cars ("trucks"), sport, etc...

So, what was normal to them drink wise did not fit the E90's European cup holders and my god did they kick up a fuss. So much so, BMW heard them and has made the F30 cup holders large enough to accommodate 2 fat bastards of a drink. So, as seen in many American F30 reviews, they are now happy (it's surprising how many reviewers make comment to them!!) and instead the Europeans are disgruntled. Being British though, we're not ones to kick up a fuss about such insignificant things and instead find other uses for them, such as storing the key!
Yes, it is quite nice that BMW finally got cup holders right.

I've found exactly this as well, though some claim that this isn't necessary!

1. Having to do two actions rather than one, to skip to next music track (flick then press thumb wheel)
2. No 'all' button on climate control
3. I like the idea of ASS, but wish it was a bit more intelligent somehow so it didn't kick in st inappropriate times
4. Music doesn't fade out enough - when on relatively loud - to be able to clearly hear nav voice directions, without voice directions being turned up uncomfortably loud.
5. No independent control for ambient lighting brightness; I have the HUD brightness on quite low so I don't see the surrounding box on a night, and also have the instruments etc. relatively low so they don't distract me; but doing the latter also reduces the ambient lighting to so low that it's pretty much invisible!

Love:
Comfort Access hands-free boot/trunk opening (you just have to have the knack!)
Cup holders: perfect for pretty much any normal cup or glass, prefer them integrated vs e E9x ones
The whole car: best car I've ever owned, and I've had some nice BMWs

As do Kias and a lot of less expensive cars. Thus, for me, they signify cheesy and cheap.

It is interesting how experience influences perspective.

Does the F10 have LED tail lights?

Wow, it appears the F30 has LED lights under the door handle, reading lights and the halos up front. So WTF???

LED brake lights and turn signals are much more expensive than a 1 watt LED door handle light.

This has happened since the E46 days... the F30 LCI will add more LEDs in the rear.

Oh Man, Where do I Start? This is a relative comparison to my E9x and E8x cars....and, hell, compared to my utilitarian low-end A3.

1. Halogen Rear Turn Signals on a 50+K car? Even E46's have rear LED Sigs.
2. Flimsy/Tinny Rear Trunk Door that kills by opening too fast like a used 99' Altima.
3. Wind Noise that is unacceptable at any speed.
4. Artificial boosted steering...even in Sport doesn't want to go off-center / feels numb.
5. Soft un-inspired suspension that floats over bumps rather than feeling taut.
6. Loud thunk on slow reversing.
7. High-pitched whirring on reverse that was not there during my ED drive in Europe.
8. Seats not as cushioned or as comfortable as previous sport seats.
9. Exhaust noise has been dumbed down from previous N55s. Less "sporty"
10. Hard to get Steering Wheel position right to see odometer and bottom screen info.
11. Rusted Seats my friends, Rusted Seats....

But the HUD is rad....meh.

Yeah my 2006 M3 had the LEDs and the first models in the series did not.

Just had to pay $1200 to register it in Colorado.....for a year....so I don't really like that.
