You have to custom make an adapter, if you read the DIY by Dante then yes, it will be plug and play, just a PITA to hide the cable IMO. Otherwise it went well and looks awesome!

Does anyone know if the connection to the ambient lighting on the doors can be tapped with a custom fabricated Y-connector like is done with the LCI A/C Radio Faceplate?

Unfortunately no, since the connector to the Ambient Lighting in the pillar is not present for M-Sport cars, you would not be able to just make an adapter. You have to tap the wiring from the rear door harness.

Update:
I was finally able to get this completed over the past weekend. Wasn't able to take any pics, but by following this guide and the post on the same topic by 'Timmahh', it is a breeze. - I found it very easy to disconnect the rear door harness and pull it out a bit to make the wiring connections, then reconnect and tuck it back into it's spot. - The harnesses that are ordered come with all the attaching connectors for running the wire down the pillar, as a tip make sure you don't connect the last 2 attach points until after the wiring is done, gives you more slack to work with. - For the wiring, Pin 1 goes to the brown ground wire. Pin 2 (middle pin) on the lighting harness goes to the White/Red wire, this is the Orange Ambient Wire. Pin 3 goes to the White/Blue wire, this is the White Ambient wire. Overall looks great, glad I was finally able to get it done! |

The rear panel. The light source attached nicely and clips onto the rear of the panel. As I did not purchase the repair cable, my installer ran a cable to tap into front under dash ambient lights.

The right way is to connect to the door ambient light. You need to buy a repair cable to do that but my installer just connect to the under dash ambient llight. |

just so I'm clear, 63319242154 is the actual mount for the led and 61319242163 is the led with a lead attached to it that runs down to the connector at the rear door?
where does 61129335592 fit in? thanks. |
