So with this setup you have the front corona rings + real tail pipe completely turned on?
or are you still missing the inner tail pipe?

So, not sure what happened, but after last night's coding (DRL stuff), I am getting this engine light:

I have the car VO coded from 6NH ---> 6NK for enhanced BT. It works fine. But, I am getting this engine symbol in my dashboard while driving...I checked the iDrive vehicle status for errors - nothing.

So, I think I am going to reset everything (still keep the 6NK). Can someone please confirm how to reset all the values to defaults? AFAIK, I just right click on the top folder with [VIN] and click code.

Please advise

npgatech, why not just revert to the default settings re: DRL and see if the check engine light goes away ?

That will VO code the whole car undoing all of your other changes too.

You might try just VO coding the REM module first. Right click on the REM CAFD (not the underlying one) and instead of selecting "Read Coding Data", select "Code".

That will reset the REM back to the factory settings.

if that doesn't fix it, they you may want to do them all to see if it clears your CEL.

Yeah I find this really annoying too.
Which CAF are the parking sensor folders in?

There are a lot of PDC related things in the REM module. There are dozens and dozens of PDC variables.

In REM, there are 6 PDC sections, 3200, 3201, 3202, 3203, 3204, and 3205.

I looked around a bit and saw some potentials:

REM / 3203 PdcParkMasterVar :

V_SCHWELLE_1 & V_SCHWELLE_2 look to be speed thresholds.

D_SCHWELLE_1 & D_SCHWELLE_2 look to be distance thresholds.

If you are up to experimenting, please post your results!

I did the full reset. The CEL still doesn't go away

Is there a way in Esys to clear errors? I hope I don't have to take it to the dealer

No. E-Sys will not clear errors. Try Tool32:

Assuming the fault condition no longer exists, to clear the fault code.

1) Launch C:\EDIABAS\Bin\TOOL32.EXE
2) Hit F3
3) Load C:\EDIABAS\Ecu\F01.PRG
4) In the "Select Job: F01" window, select FS_LOESCHEN_FUNKTIONAL
5) Hit F5
6) "Results" window should show "JOB_STATUS = OKAY"

Hopefully, Problem Solved.

Note: fs_lesen_funktional only read fault codes, FS_LOESCHEN_FUNKTIONAL will delete it.

I tried to do this but since I have reset the car, I cannot establish Ethernet connection! :-( Is it because I reset and it somehow disabled the Ethernet connectability? I am going to also check if the cable is good. Any ideas?

I have checked my pc. rebooted.
Ethernet card settings are ok. Automatic IP address assignment.
I turned on and off the car a few times.

Not sure what's wrong :-(((

I don't know what the connection issue is, but resetting the ECU's is not it, else you would not have been able to code it to begin with.

I would make sure the cable is good and making a good connection on both the OBDII and Ethernet sides.

I did IPConfig in the command prompt,

shows me:
Autoconfiguration IPv4 address: 169.254.197.139

then I pinged that IP, it pings no issues. But I can't connect :-(

Is that the IP for your LAN Adapter or the Car? If the LAN Adapter, then I still say you have a problem with your cable.

We're back in business! I had to remake the cable (cable from April1 was not correctly wired. Not sure why it worked before the reset). After checking multiple times (and totally shocked) with my multimeter connectivity test, it was indeed inconsistent with the Cable guide posted on the first page.

After remaking the cable, I could connect and follow the tool32.exe procedure as you indicated. Worked like a charm! Engine checklight is off. Now, I just have to recode all the parameters and hope the CEL doesn't come on. Otherwise, Rinse & repeat until I find the parameter that causes a CEL.

Thanks Shawn!

now to add to the confusion, I changed the values as follows to get both front & back DRL to turn on (note that the parameters are different than the first time!):

Code:
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = sl_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = sl_r
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_L_OUTPUT = sl_2_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_R_OUTPUT = sl_2_r
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
So, what the hell is going on? Only conclusion I can come up with is that MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6 or 7 doesn't matter. I have them OFF. With my default TFL_MODUS=drl_s, I just had to change MAPPING_TAGARHL_H/H2 to their respective values.

I am sure, some where in the dark offices of BMW software development team...there is a thick manual that tells ya all the dependencies & explanations. The "Comment or rather Kommenter" thing is a cruel joke...its not consistent and the whole thing is haphazardly put together IMHO. BMW software developers! get your act together...help us hackers out lol

or I could try to learn German
Yes, it's enough for inner and outer tail lights as DRL:

REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = sl_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = sl_r
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_L_OUTPUT = sl_2_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_R_OUTPUT = sl_2_r

For some strange reason i cant connect via VIN anymore. The last time ive coded something was last week. And today the vin box in esys is greyed out.

The other connections are available exept VIN. Where the VIN should be it now says no ZGW available

When i try ZGW_SEARCH it says MSWINSCK.ocx is missing or invalid. But the file is in the same folder

I don't think live/internet can co-exist with BMW Assist, it's either or.

To keep live/internet, you will have to remove BMW Assist from the VO.
