Curious, why is the BMW stage 1 tune more popular than the afe tune? Are there any technical differences?

BMS are only BMW ( they will dedicate all their R&D and support to BMW) so you know they will always have updates.
the N54 JB4 is the most proven tune out there and it has been doing great for years.
BMS offer great customer service ( always available to help and as mentioned above constantly updating their firmware).
It is also cheaper than the AFE.

Why fix something that is not broken? If i was looking for a tune i would go with the one that is most popular, that has the most proven results.

As for technical details
i do not believe the AFE has data logging
And their dyno results is comparable to the Jb stage 1.

I have the afe so I cannot compare to the bms tune since I have not used it.
The afe scorcher boosts the power down low which is very nice for city driving as this is where the power is most usable. I have read that the bms tune produces its power higher in the rev band.
