I ordered mine 34 days ago and it's already on the truck heading to my dealer for delivery. Call corporate to find out what's taking so long...

According to the BMWUSA site my car is at the dealer for the past 2 days...however, when I call the 1 800 number it says the car is in transit. Usually the call yields a more accurate and up to date status than the web site. So I thought this a bit strange.
I emailed the dealership and haven't gotten any response for a couple days...I'm abroad right now so catching them due to time difference can be challenging. Question...how long should I expect the dealer to hold onto it before they call the owner to come pick it up? I suspect it should only be 1 to 2 days max. I paid for and signed for the car first week of Oct before I departed country so the wife could just come and pick up when it arrived. Also, how many miles should I expect on my car? Obviously...ordered ... I suspect 3 to 5 miles? |

I called BMW North American headquarters in New Jersey and BMW USA which is somehow different and all they can tell me is that my car cannot be produced earlier than week 6 of 2015 for a variety of reasons. When I asked what those reasons were I heard silence. I pushed the issue and finally he gave me 1 possible reason which is that the selling dealer only had a certain number of allocations and already used them on other orders. I called my dealer today and he claims that he will email BMW today and will call me tomorrow with any news.

Oh, well. I'd keep on them until you get either an answer, or something more than an apology. Making noise appeared to work for me. |

I'm glad to hear, sorry about the long wait. question, isn't new cars suppose to come with 0 on the odometer? why did your have 9? I thought new builds were not suppose to be driven at all.

I know in the US...the ODO can't be reset legally. I think there are exceptions...but certainly not in a new car. Maybe others can advise more intelligibly about this...I'm not very well informed on the subject.

The ship with my car (RESOLVE) arrived at the Dundalk Port (Baltimore) this evening, a day early. Here's to a smooth run through the new VPC there. Maybe, just maybe, I'll have my car within the next seven days.
Right at 90 days and counting since order date. And the excitement is starting to return. |

I'm at 3 weeks since order date, and all I get is that the order is still being processed, the car is scheduled for production with no set date. This is via the 1-800 number.
Is it normal to take 3+ weeks just to process an order? My SA said he wouldn't even give me a range of estimated time when I ordered, stating that they had plenty of allotments for this car (F31) and they were coming in fast, so he said 6 weeks guaranteed with no reservations. When I write to him, he keeps saying it will go into production 'very soon!'. It's an F31 m-sport that's loaded. Any thoughts?

No, new cars never come with 0 miles. They are driven on and off the boat, test driven by the dealer when it arrives, etc.
