Sirius XM Satellite Radio

Anyone else have the signal fail? I had to contact Sirius to have them send a "refresh" to my car. No big deal just wondering if this is common with them?

Not common. Have three cars with the service. Noticed a "refresh" today on one car, so maybe they are updating. That happens occasionally but should only take a couple minutes to resolve if you have a good unobstructed signal.

Rare but happens once in a while. I've had to do it probably 2-3 times over 4 years

For future reference so you don't spend time calling, you can refresh your signal yourself on your online account

I haven't had it happen, but it must be a common occurrence. I'm pretty sure if you call their 800 number, one of the menu options is to speak to someone to send a refresh signal to your radio. Or maybe I saw a button for it on their website.

Remember they just changed their channels/channel lineup today (8/4).

That was the root cause of your issue.

I've never had a failure or needed my signal refreshed after changes in the channel lineup. This is the second time in a year they have done that.

You can do a refresh by logging onto your account, selecting your car/radio and clicking on send refresh signal or something like that.

Just because you didn't does not mean that everyone was in the same boat as you - as proven above.

Correct--and just because there was a channel update, doesn't mean that was the cause of needing a refresh.

Multiple people in thread need refresh on 8/4

SiriusXM does update on 8/4 (I saw it myself in realtime).
