So the other day I am minding my own business and notice this G35 trying to make his presence felt. Eventually I got ticked off and we went for it. Safe to say I was really ticked off since I put at least 3 football fields between us. I am sure he had let go in under 10s of making my own presence felt.

In the midst of all this I heard a beeping sound which went away when I reduced my speed. I don't know if I hit the speed limiter and I have never knowingly reached it since I never check my speed at such levels. I have the 155mph limit.

Has anyone here ever experienced this beeping sound?

There is an option in the settings to warn you when reaching a certain user-configurable speed. It's a warning gong or chime similar to when you're running out of gas or when you're forgetting your seat belt. It's 1 gong. Not sure where in the settings, I think it's the Eco Pro settings.

If you hit the speed limiter at 155 you've got bigger cahoneys than me. It's doubtful though. From a standstill to about 120, the seconds fly by. 120 to top end takes some time and a LOT of straightaway.

What is it about G35 driver's anyway?

Quick and funny question to the OP, did you happen to sit on your keys?

I know it sounds crazy but once I had sat on my keys and the panic alarm sound turned on and after a few seconds turned off. My windows were up so it sounded like beeping but I wasn't sure what it was. Then I found out it was that and I just didn't know it could go off while driving. Maybe it was this?

There isn't any beeping noise for your speed limiter, especially since I have a feeling you wouldn't hit 155mph on a spur, haha.

@auf
Makes sense that I could not have hit it since it never felt like it. The beeping is what stopped me, lol. The tq on these cars is amazing. The G35 gunned his first and I waited till he reduced 2 cars lengths behind me to one, then I went WOT. That one car length was all he got, he never came any closer from that instant I went WOT. It didn't help his cause that I was already in sport+ with DS on. Trust me he has a new found respect for the blue 335i with a CF rear spoiler

@hals..
You my friend just nailed. After auf, whom I know has tried some interesting runs himself, suggested 155 is no easy task I realized the odds of that happening are slim given the car was still pulling hard when I heard that beeping. It did sound like a cop siren as well. My sunroof was definitely open and my keys stay in my pocket. As you said its unlikely I would hit that limit on a spur. Why you chose the word spur after my team got annihilated last night I will never know

Otherwise thanks for solving this mystery

You're very welcome! And I've actually never used the word spur until that last post to the best my recollection, haha.

Food for thought: I have had people give me weird looks as I drive by because I don't realize my alarm is on. I have waken up to my trunk being wide open after a night of rain. And I have had my trunk pop open in the middle of a stop light, making me take an embarrassing walk of shame to the back of the car just to close it. These are the struggles of comfort access and a key in the back pocket and I've learned the hard way. Just thought I've give you a fair warning so you won't have to suffer like I did.

i have gotten to limiter in about a mile from a stand still in my Z so i know that the turbos will keep pulling you through it. When i hit the limiter i wa still ucked n my seat pretty hard and i noticed i had hit it when i started feeling light for a second and then back into my seat i went.

Not sure what the modded top end is but i definately hit 155.

I normally put the keys in my side pockets so this was the first and only time I had this incident. Otherwise I might start using the cup holders.

Thanks for the tip

I plan on paying a visit to the limiter one day. Just need to make sure I find the right place for it
