Sell the ZHP or keep it

I might be getting a job that will have me working over seas for 4 months at a time and chill in the states for about 6 weeks and rinse and repeat.

I would just have to keep a car, make payments on it and have it just sit for that time. Should I just sell it and get something for those 6 weeks or so? The wife has a sorento, so I really don't need a car. I also can't have a car where I am going, if I need one I will be given a car.

Financially it doesn't make sense if you can get by for those 6 week periods. That being said, if you're a car enthusiast rarely do you make the financially responsible decision. Depends on how much you like the car. Maybe drive the Sorento for a couple weeks and see how much you miss the ZHP.

Financially it wont matter, lol. I have been ZHPless for about 1 month now as we are visiting family and I miss it and I don't. It's fun to drive, but putting a kid in the rear sit isn't the funnest thing to do. We only had one car for about 3 years and we did just fine. I worked and the wife stayed at home.

I love the car, just hate for it to sit and not get used. Also, if I sell it, maybe I can get a F car or Lambo after a few trips over seas

Sell it while it still has value. No point in taking more depreciation while not using it. When your situation changes buy something else.
