I leave the bass in the middle and treble all the way up, though I think the subs could use some upgrading... the bass is awful in teh stock system

Depends what you're listening to obviously ... and on which audio system.

On my mom's old 7-Series you could adjust by frequency. I would always be like I am not a God damn audio engineer, at least give me pre-sets!!

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix. Most stock systems are unable to differentiate the frequencies from about 120Hz and below. Much pop/rock/rap is equalized in a way which makes this worse - many listeners want to feel the thumps which occur with excess energy at roughly 100 Hz and music producers satisfy this desire with too much bass.

It may help to play with the fader. Changing the balance between front and rear may decrease the bass loading you are experiencing.

Good luck.

I think I remember a thread on here a while back with the perfect settings for the HK equalizer. Do a search for it.

From the OP's pic, it looks like he has the standard Hi-Fi set-up, no equalizer showing on the iDrive.

With the Standard System I find it helps reducing the bass like you have with a little treble on the plus side and shifting the sound more to the back.

Basically the same settings you have if i see it correctly. I think the base system doesn't get better than that.

I hope the OP is not expecting a clean bass from the stock system

OP got stock audio system...

No HK, therefore No equalizer ... (no frequency adjustments, nor killer speakers, not the best but not the worse either)

This thread is actually quite funny. On another thread discussing the HK and Standard systems, many are saying they can barley tell the difference between the two.
