Did you use the USA links?

Are these maps for the States or Europe?

I think our fibre is 60 meg and it now says 36 hours.

Nothing to do with the speed of the fibre as every other site is fine, just the map download site that's slow.

What is included in the Connected Drive Services package?

I'm not overly interested in the Concierge and all that fluff, but I do see some value in RTTI etc...

Can anyone tell me if the maps is worth doing.

I've got an early 2015 NBT and never once found the maps to be incorrect. Do later maps offer more functionality/changed graphics etc or is it literally just adjustments to new road layouts.

I think it is just road layouts, except when you get to 2018-1, that then provides RTTI traffic flow on B roads in addition to the current A and M roads.

Unfortunately, although 2018-1 is available elsewhere, BMW's servers are only offering 2017-2 at the moment. But I have taken the 2 year map update, and I expect to be able to get 2018-1 shortly with any luck.

The map download servers seem to be operating at about the same speed as our terrible broadband, 3 Mbps*. For once we are not disadvantaged.

*We got so sick of this that I established a community fibre partnership - we'll dig about half a mile of our own trenches to get fibre to our small group of houses.

thanks for the info on this. It is the first update I have got in over 2 years of ownership and purchased the map updates and find that I have been sold 2017-2 updates, does this mean that when I have loaded this into the car I can then download 2017-3 etc?

A 32GB usb drive will typically have a formatted (ie useable) capacity of 29.7GB.

Yes. Older versions like 2015-1 fitted on a 32GB stick, but 2017-1 and 2017-2 have needed a 64GB stick.
