No power to Automatic Seats when Car not started

Just started happening. My '13 328i has no power unless the car is started. Basically I can't move the seats unless I start the car. Any Ideas?

they usually work for about 15min after car has been turned off like the rest of the equipment, after that you have to at least hit the start button one time with the keys near by to restore power

I would say it is closer to a minute before it ceases. Not enough time to move the seat all the way back and forward. Started car, same test and same result. But did notice for the first time a battery discharged warning. So something electrical may be off.

In my 09 E92 the AGM battery only lasted 4 yrs - dealer replaced it under warranty after I bitched about such short life span

It's the battery. Telltale signs that it's gonna ghost soon. Our cars are smart enough to disable non essential services when the battery charge is low, so as to conserve power for startup.

I was in a 340i at the dealer listening to the stereo and after a while a message popped up on iDrive that said: "Battery charge low. Start engine.". Pretty impressive.

My '96 would do that if you went WOT, the AC compressor would turn off to minimize parasitic loss. Not all that new tech

Hmm...if I walk up my car or wife;s truck and use 'my' fob, it'll adjust the seats like it's supposed to before I ever get there and initiate my profile....

Maybe not, but news to me. Guys at performance center told us not to try and be tough guys and go no AC.
