For those with the Coral Red seats..

how do you like it so far?

Ive always been a great admirer of that interior but as i flip though pictures, im starting to feel like it would be to loud maybe a little annoying after a while.

what exterior color did you get em with? which one do you think it looks best with?

Ive always been a traditional fan of the all black interior just seems safe neutral color to get, just interested to hear different opinions thanks.

Love, love, love it! It's my favorite part of the look of my car...I got Mineral Grey and the two work together beautifully (especially with my 35% tint)...I have received many compliments from almost everyone who has sat in it! I think my comfort zone is such that I like one bold color, one more moderate (i.e. interior is bold red, exterior is classy but conservative grey).

And for the record, prior to this car I was always a black/black kind of guy but I wanted something different this time and I would likely do it again (although I might have gotten the M-Sport with Estoril Blue if it was available at the time...though following my color logic above, I would have spec'd a black interior on that one)...

To each their own I suppose...

Couldn't agree more. Love it.

I have one question though how do you clean it. I start seeing marks from my jeans on the driver's side.

I got the coral red with alpine white exterior and its simply amazing. it makes your car look more sport, luxorious, expensive, and etc. I've had my car for 4 months now and still didn't regret it one tiny bit.

BTW, to reduce jean stains, use a towel thats coral red to place it on the seat.

Haven't had mine long, it's only been 1 month so far but loving every minute of it.

I too was worried about the "loudness" of the CR seats and colour in general while i was waiting delivery but when I saw it in person, I knew the right choice was made.

Exterior choice was Alpine White.

I have previously had beige (sooooooo hard to keep clean) and black/dark grey seats. I'll agree with you too that the dark colors are just easier to care for but at the end of the day I wanted something a little more dramatic this time round, so opted for the coral red.

As the previous post mentioned, worried about denim transferring color? I just keep a towel/throwover thing in the car so that if I'm in denim, I can just lay it down before hand.

4th BMW I've bought with red leather.

E46 330d silver grey w/red

E92 335d white w/red

E92 M3 white w/red

F31 330d touring white w/red

So Red gets a big thumbs up from me... you'll love it and it makes any other colour boring in my opinion.

We found a coral with alpine white 135 vert on the lot last year, it was alot more interesting than the usual beige or gray - the red looks especially good with the top down. Black interior always looks classy, but black seats on a vert = hot.

We liked the black/red contrast so much that we ordered it with Mineral gray on the 335 M-Sport - while this color combo looks great, I would have preferred it with mineral white, but it's not avail.

Comments on the blue jeans above are spot on - they do stain the seats (especially new jeans), so the towel idea is a good one.

Haven't seen any dye transfer from clothing yet but I keep my cars pretty clean and frequently treat the leather so that probably helps...

Don't currently have this interior but can't imagine going with any other interior color choice once I purchase. It's bold and screams sport.

I have enjoyed the coral interior very much. It's not "candy" red; I would say it's a more refined tone of red, with some orange and brown tones - in fact, I like the interior so much that I chose that colour first and then opted for Alpine White as my exterior coat, even though I would have preferred to go for the Estoril Blue. I have received many compliments on the interior (not that I would care one way or another), and it's absolutely pleasing to the eye!

I love my coral red interior. It was one of the main reasons (as stupid as that sounds) to move from my e90 to f30. I am loving every minute of it. I had the dealer scotch guard it and its only been 2 weeks but I have actually worn a few pairs of new jeans I got for Christmas and no problem with dye transfer. You wont regret coral!

I just went to walmart and bought a coral red bath towel and cut it in half. So two pieces for the front seats. and its just for sitting on. Nothing on the headrest and back.

Go for it! I had coral red on my E92 and I immediately chose it again when I ordered my F30. After four years I'm still in love with the color; I think it adds a unique touch (both sporty and elegant) to a relatively common car.

I have a jet black exterior sport line which complements the contrast really well. I also chose the black trim with red highlight to continue the color through the dash. Also, I've noticed a lot of people mention having issues with dye stains but I've never had any issue.

Here is a link to a post I made when I got the car--- it has some interior shots that ultimately capture the coral red interior: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=691682

I love the red, the black may have worn better in the long run but on a lease I didn't care about this.

I did notice that the "drive for team USA" event cars that were going around this summer (and had people constantly getting in and out) one had Coral red seats and they were showing some premature wear. It was concerning, but wasn't terrible - especially considering how many people got in and out of those cars on a daily basis with the seat not adjusted correctly.

Keep the leather conditioned, avoid cheap or heavily dyed denim and anything with rivets and you should be good for a long time.

There's no perfect way to preserve any type of upholstery, especially if you plan on having the car for a very long time. Seats like the sport seats are especially prone to excess wear because it's natural for your body/butt to rub the bolsters of the seat as you get in and out. I had issues with the mesh fabric fraying on my Nissan, the leather bolster tearing on my Corvette, and the perforated leather tearing on my Acura. Stunk, but that's just the nature of friction and materials. I wouldn't bother sticking a towel down, that's like old Italian mothers covering the sofas with plastic.

Enjoy it, take good care of it and you'll be fine.

I've been driving red leather BMW's for 5yrs, never had any issues - not with blue jeans, wear or anything really.

The only thing I do, is make sure I almost lift myself out of the car using the sill, rather than brushing against the bolster.

Go for it

Coral Red is an awesome interior colour; I agree with the comment above that - coupled with a conservative exterior colour e.g. Black, grey, - it really adds some flair to the car, and makes it extra special. The main thing is it is NOT as loud as you see in most photos - it's hard to capture accurately. In reality, it's a little more subdued, but still extremely sporty.

I too used to be a black/black kind of guy; but after 'risking' Coral on my 135i, I spec'd it in my new 330d in a flash. Also, as you guys know, the F30 is the first 3 Series saloon (not coupe/convertible) that you can get CR in. I actually don't think I would be in my F30 now if this wasn't the case; it was one of the reasons for moving to the saloon, after a string of coupes

I had Audi's "Red Magma" in an S5 I had. Loved it for a while but tired of it within a year and wished I had stuck with my original order, their light gray (almost looked white). Almost got Coral Red on my 335, but went with black since I'll have this one longer than I kept the S5 (only because I had a baby on the way, loved that car).

I was worried about the same thing. The color is not represented well in pictures at all - it's much deeper than it seems. Absolutely love it and have no regrets (except for the fact that I couldn't get cloth/alcantara).
