Leatherette with Heated seats?

Is it possible to get Heated seats or Cold Weather Package with leatherette? Both bmwusa.com and bmwconfig.com wouldn't let me add Heated seats or CWP without first selecting leather.
Although when I asked a CA at local dealership, he said I could get CWP or just heated seats with leatherette.
Anybody here get leatherette with CWP or heated seats?
IF possible to get leatherette with CWP, how does it hold over time compared to leather with heat coils beneath?

I have black leatherette with heated front seats. I noticed when I did order a few options I wanted couldn't be selected until he emailed someone about it.

I haven't seen a problem on bmwusa.com or bmwconfig.com with adding Heated Seats with Leatherette. It's only a problem if you want to add the whole CWP as it seems it requires leather.

I've been checking because if I was buying I would be going for that exact combination: leatherette with heated front seats.

You are right, it lets me add Heated seats with leatherette. But doesn't let me add CWP when selected leatherette. I can got without leather, but not without CWP. So it seems I might need to get leather just because of that.

Honestly can't tell a difference between the two. I think the only major difference is the venting.

I have the leatherette with heated seats and everyone thought it was leather, I really don't see the need to pay extra for leather, for that much money you should get the HK ( which is really good and everyone i showed it too could not believe how loud it is and how clear the music is ) or the performance exhaust, or get the 403s which look sooo good, or the rear view camera and the sensors which I find very useful in Chicago,

The thing is I can go with leatherette, doesn't really make a big difference. But I WANT cold weather package for sure and it seems like to get CWP I would NEED to get leather.
Undecided on HK, stock system sounded very good so don't know.
Definitely getting the PDC and rear-view camera.
Most certainly getting the performance exhaust installed at the port.

^^ That's the reason for getting CWP.
I have to drive around my parents a LOT during winter, so they will really appreciate the heated seats. As my father doesn't and wouldn't drive in snow.

Since you didn't get leather, I am assuming you didn't get premium package.

Over the long haul, leather will hold up better. Leatherette is vinyl. It'll eventually dry out/crack. If you're not in for the long haul, this will be irrelevant.

Because only women's hands get cold? Why not forgo the heater as well, Mr. Manly-man? After all, comfort is really just for the delicate women-folk, right?

Personally, I can't wait to wrap my hands around my heated steering wheel in the dead of winter when the ambient temp is -20F, and wouldn't think of skipping the CWP. But maybe I've gotten soft living in AK my entire life.

i've had both. the opposite is true. the leatherette wears like iron-- all it needs for care is a wipe down with a damp cloth. the ette in my 07 looked brand new when i returned it. my 2010 leather is looking a little dry even though i condition it a few times a year.

the bmw 3 series leather is a fairly low grade of leather. you WILL get cracking if you dont clean and condition it.

my 01 330i with leather is still in the family and it is showing its age. a friends 2002 with ette still looks new without any special care.

Just because someone likes and/or prefers leatherette over leather, they should buy a KIA? Seriously? Then I guess all those Europeans who like their alcantara seats should probably buy Peugeot.....

Buy whatever you want.

Most of the posts I've read from folks with the leatherette says it wears better than the BMW leather, and the stitching on the 2013 models is vastly improved. Less care + longer wear = win! I've not seen it in person, but people say it is almost indistinguishable from leather.
