Keep in mind my car is a base Canadian spec 328 ... I just compared the Canadian and US BMW websites and couldn't find any details about the ambient lighting.

I did notice that on the 320 offered here, there is a "lighting package" but it only talks about the lights under the exterior handles.

For those of you that don't have the footwell/airbag lights, do you have lights under all the door handles as well as lights on the underside of each door (aka door exit lights)?

I wish my dealership was open at night so that I could have test drove it with all the night time illumination.

here are the options in the iDrive screen. I'm guessing these are not available for you guys. The ambient choices I have are Classic (orange) and Modern (white). I wonder if the Sport and Luxury trims with these lights have different colour options.

In my Luxury, from Idrive, i have the option to choose either classic or white luxury ambient light...

the camera exposure makes this seem brighter than it really is:

in reality, and at the full brightness of the strips, this is what i see in my Luxury:

I will try to get the white light tonight...
... but personally, i prefer the orange hue... no other cars has that... as opposed to the while lite.... (as far as i know)

Exactly the same here on full brightness, bright enough for my taste.. I actually turned the brightness a bit down lol

I also have it on the orange/amber hue.. while I don't mind the white in the lines, I do think it's nicer to have it amber colored as everything else has that color in the car. That, plus the lights on the pillars are way too light when it is bright white lol

Can you please post pictures of what it looks like with Modern (white) selected? Do all the gauges and buttons change from orange to white?

The gauges stay orange, only the ambient lights change colour.

Didn't think I had this feature until I read this post. This was because the brightness setting of the ambient lighting was not high enough. Just cranked it up and there it is. Looking forward to some night driving now.

Same as my Idrive. Still no b pillar lights - it seems they are not part of the sport line. No real loss IMO.

Wink

under different light conditions, with the same white balance..

I put the white "luxury" light on... but didn't like as much as the amber hue...

I will do the white light once i get the car back in the States...
