I know A.S.S. isn't super popular, but I like it. I don't find it intrusive and I like the bump in MPG. They've had in in Euro longer than we have in the US and it was one of the features I was hoping would come across the atlantic.

At first, I liked it too. Then my engine stalled in traffic a couple of times. I don't use it any longer. I would much rather give up a little gas mileage in order to have a reliable automobile that I know won't stall unexpectedly.

Speaking of A.S.S., I would like to know whose idea it was to have it enabled when the engine is started. It's not much of a problem to disable it by pushing that button, but I think it's completely unnecessary. BMW is known for its innovative ideas, but this one is ridiculous.

There's a software fix for the stall issue. The tester I drove did that once, they updated my software before I bought the car and it hasn't stalled at all.

BMW is far from innovative by including the function; it has been around for years in excellent implementations. BMW's innovation is to make it intrusive and unreliable.

PROs
- superb automatic gearbox
- very efficient and torquey diesel engines
- very comfy
- still some "joy" to drive

CONs
- design too blunt particularly for entry level models
- runflats improved but not yet there...
- why not increasing so much size, worse for city parking
- handling good but lacks somewhat BmW old DNA

It's controlled by Logic 7 surround sound, sure I've seen it labeled as a 7.1 surround sound. Hmm...

have seen a couple of f30 around, all entry level model (probably fleet), meaning no line, no alloy wheel, no xenon, etc.. .. beurkkk looks cheap, and actually prefer the old 90 . it's thanks god better with better equipped cars...

No I didn't either. The "worst" they do are the 16" ones on the 320d EfficientDynamics model.

For all the flack BMW took in the early years, the iDrives I've had in an 07 x5, '11 x3, and from test drives in the F30 (seemingly the same as my wife's x3, till the new nav is out anyway), BMW does a MUCH better job with this than Audi or Mercedes.

+1 , the new (er) iDRive is very intuitive and supereasy to use. The older ones not so much.

Pros:
- Awesome Exhaust Sound at Idle and Hard Acceleration
- Love the handling
- Stunning "Angel" eyes
- Really like how the back trunk opens when your hands are tied up with groceries
- A definite head-turner!!!

Cons:
- not good mileage so far and I'm using premium fuel
- car gets dirty very quick (maybe because of the recent rains? LOL)
- Brakes are not as strong as they were in my E90
