One of the major reasons why I like it is the easy of install/uninstall & the bluetooth app.

Selling Dinan Sport Tune
I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is still looking for a Dinan Sport tune, I'm selling mine for $199.
It works flawlessly. Only used for a short time. Looking to go with a flash-tune which is why I'm selling this one. |

If you haven't already, make sure you post in the classifieds. Congrats on making the switch! I came from the same tuner and you're going to love flash tunes.

What did you go with?

From your profile, it looks like this is your tune? > "PTF Stage 2 91 AGG Tune" Not familiar with it. HP gains? Cost? Company? I'm still shopping around for tuning options, so any info would be great. Thanks again. |

All I can say is that I highly recommend BM3 for your car. There are other flash tunes out there like ActiveAutowerkes(AA), but none that are a genuine platform like BM3. MHD will be getting into the N20/N26s in the future, but who knows how long that will be and even then, MHD in my opinion is a little bare for their platform but it is cheaper. As for BM3, it is truly amazing. For that price, you can do so much. You can unlock/lock your DME and flash to stock (For bringing it in for service), you can flash different OTS/custom maps in 30 seconds, have a dashboard to show all your engine values, read and clear diagnostic codes. You can also request custom tunes from the tuners registered in their tuning directory and they also have a tune editor in the program, so you can take it to your local tuner who doesn't have it and let them edit/build your tune! In the future, we will be seeing user configuration settings (such as change burble duration, aggressiveness, idle speed, cold start, TMAP, etc.) and possibly car coding! (All the stuff like turning off seatbelt chime, turning off the turn signals so they're not always on, folding mirrors, etc.) As for the gains for stage 2 91 or 93OCT, expect your car to be around ~280whp or so. I keep forgetting that I owe you all a dyno before I jump up to the next tune. Overall, the flash tune will be much smoother and you'll get clean power.

It's an easy process. Much, much easier than trying to root a phone and flash a custom firmware/OS. Initial unlock and flash is under 5 minutes.

No, no. It still unlocks the DME, just via the OBDII Port. I'm assuming AA is the same way. Only way to write the DME.

For bootmod3, your stock tune (when you first unlock the car, it reads it and writes it to a file in case you need to flash back to stock) is stored on your "My Maps" page. Same thing with your OTS. You'll select the OTS map and press "Get tune" and it'll appear under the "My Maps" page. They're both great tuners it appears. The key difference aside from price and quality of the maps (I haven't observed many AA logs, so don't want to rate that) is the platform. AA seems like it's for people who want to flash a tune and not touch it again. BM3 is an entire platform, as I'm sure you've seen me go on about. Lol.

after all my reading I'm still not done with questions though lol last one (probably not but whatever): when you say "My Maps" page and things like, are you referring to a program that I download onto my computer or is it an online database? also, AA does charge an extra $200 for the simon3 cable. $600 for the tune, $800 if you want the cable to do it yourself. congrats on getting yet another person (me) on the BM3 train!

And that's ridiculous! Curious if you actually need the cable or if ENet works. Regardless, for me BM3 is the better choice. Let's take their $200 cable out of the question and we have the same priced product. Only difference is that if you want the rest of the OTS maps, you pay $50 extra whenever you buy BM3. Even then, you don't have to pay $50 yet. AA, you pay that, flash and done. BM3 is that platform that I've explained AND you can transfer it to any motor they support, if you change cars. Makes the switch to the M, for me, much easier lol.

Seriously, talk about thread jacking, people searched and came here to read on the dinan sport, not flash tune or BM3. Go start another thread next time, or PM each other.
