Mean black 435i
It was worth the wait!
First impressions: Coming from a N54 335i the engine feels a lot different in revs, it sounds totally different too. If I am being objective I miss the N54, people say the N55 has more torque but I personally disagree. Worth noting it's a new car, I may have to wait for it to break in. The driving: the F32 feels more solid all round, the handling, the steering, the cabin...the car feels very robust and well crafted. Looks: that's the real winner. Was always going towards EB2 or MG but after several consultations with my girlfriend and my dad I ended up with a black one with red interior - Living in London, I am so glad I have made that choice now, that car just looks stunning in person. Will post better quality photos later. |

Looks great - I'm also leaning towards black with red or maybe ivory next time

great looking car!
I have to admit the roofline on the 'vert suffers a little compared to the coupe that looks much sportier. just curious about where you live in London. my son's in Clerkinwell for the fall semester; we'll be visiting soon.

Thanks guys!
I live in Islington, it's very close to Clerkenwell - would be nice to hook up with a fellow enthusiast, let me know. Little update: I love this car!!! No surprise here |

Out of curiosity, is there some sort of stipulation that comes with the MG or EB2 combo living in London? |

How many miles do you have on it already? Have you been able to drive it hard, or is your review only based on more cruising/casual driving for the engine comparisons?

Only because all my previous bmws were either silver or blue, most of them were keyed, one of them was stolen - these colours attract the wrong attention at least where I live. Guess this time I played it safe, plus I am getting older so sapphire black suits me better.

I've done 300 miles in 2 weeks, pushed it hard in the country this weekend in Sport+ mode and the engine/gearbox sparked to life as I hoped it would. Still can't deny it's a much more comfortable ride than the e92 with N54 and RFTs, it feels more "bourgeois" in a way. The tyres are runflats but the steering feel more wobly, the e92 drove like a gokart in comparison when cornering which I do miss. Don't get me wrong, it's a definitely step up from the previous iteration, if you are in the market for a one, get one now
