They could be talking in general about how great the zf8 box is? Question is what is the code on the alpina box is it the same as a x35d or the same as the x5 50d which has higher torque |

The gearbox can be flashed to alpina providing you have a coding cable and psdzdata full and ista D. I'm away with work but can point some in the right direction of a chap who will do it. It takes 4 minutes to flash the can be flashed back to standard

Drive the car in Sport mode, that'll give the steering more weight.

For the minimal volume of cars Alpina make, there is no massive budget to radically change gearbox internals to an Alpina design. Something even BMW avoid. My guess is Alpina have shopped the ZF standard parts bin to come up with their modified box.....not that modified at all. |
