Bought Rims from Someone. They are Bent! Help!
Hi Guys, I bought rims from a person in this forum's classifieds. When I went to mount them in the dealership, I felt some vibrations. I took it back and turns out 2 out 4 rims are bent. I bought the rims a month back. What do i do now? Is there a way for me to get my money back?
Please help! |

The other important note as a buyer is that you ASK if there are bends. Same goes for tires and % of thread left...etc. I would suggest you go back to the seller and work through the best option for either refinishing or refund...

The challenge is how do you know they weren’t bent during shipping or after they went on the car? If I sold wheels to someone, I would never do it if I knew they were damaged. If the buyer later came to me and told me they were damaged, not sure how I’d address it as I’d know they were fine when I sold them.
Not suggesting they were damaged by you at all but that it would be hard to know for sure how and when they were. That makes it tough. Hopefully you and the seller can come to an agreement you both can live with.

Best thing to is contact the seller and start a discussion with them. If you paid through PayPal you can always go that route to get you money back but be prepared to eat the cost of shipping them back to the seller and what ever else you spent on getting them on your car.
I have worked with people that I have sold and bought stuff from when there was issues and it has always worked out. Good luck |

You can try contacting them back but it's not possible to prove that they were bent before you purchased them, especially if your didn't mount new tires on them. If you had mounted tires on them, a good shop would have seen the issue right away before even mounting them on your car.
I think you're going to have to spend the time & money to get the two wheels straightened at a specialty shop. There are a few shops in the GTA that do it - you'll have to do some research to see if there are shops in Windsor that offer that service.
