text messaging through navigation

Have a 435 w navigation

I trialed the dragon interface where I can to voice to text. After that trial expired, I was able to use the navigation knob to type out my text messages.

But as of last week, it won't even let me click reply. Was this part of the dragon dictation?

Yes without dragon drive you shouldn't get the "New" menu choice and can't reply.

I wish they'd make it for iOS. I don't text from my android phone.

I use S-Voice on my Samsung Note 3 - New IOS now at 5.0 called Lollipop. Works flawless with my 428i 2015 Convertible for text messaging. No need to get any extended Bluetooth.
