Hi another opinion desired on my 2018 340i
I am getting Mineral Grey M sport with 19in 704 wheels with Black kidney grill and carbon fiber spoiler

I like the Oyster Dakota leather but really do not like any of the trims.

I was considering the Aluminum dark carbon but all the real word pics show it is not dark in color and similar to the Aluminum hexagonal trim.

I am leaning toward either Burl walnut or hexagonal aluminum with black accent.

Anyone have an opinion, it would be appreciated.

This is a very personal decision as you will have to enjoy the interior choice for some time. I always preferred aluminum trims over wood trims.

Ash grey. More gray than anthracite. With black dash and oyster seats the ash picks up every shade of gray in between. Perfect match in person.

Also, the accent strip looks great with other aluminum trim in interior.

I checked every combination before ordering mine.

With oyster or ivory interiors, anthracite is the clear winner in my opinion. That assumes you like the swanky "expensive furniture" look of dark gray wood grain with light leather.

I had the hex aluminium in my 2014 and always hated wood trims. My 2017 has the anthracite trim (that I though I was going to swap out) and it's really nice in person. Makes the car feel more expensive yet still modern looking.

Does anthracite still have grey look with black lines. The pictures can be so deceiving.

Ash then Anthracite - everything else is a distant third.

It is true that the anthracite looks brown in pictures, but does not really look that way in person. It is certainly the least wood looking of the wood trims. And probably the best with Oyster.

Burled Walnut looks good with beige interiors, but not so much with the other colors, and the high gloss finish doesn't go with the walnut color very well - this would be killer in satin or matte finish.

I have anthracite and love it. I think all the silver trims look cheap in comparison. I have had several silver trims in my BMWs over the years, and although I liked them at first, did not love them after awhile. I have brushed aluminum in my M3 which I like, but only because it is tri tone with black dash, doors and carpet and then the cinnamon seats and door inserts. If the interior were all one color, or a light color like beige or oyster I would not like it.

I had anthracite bamboo in my 550i and loved that. Piano black is popular now, but is not practical to live with - anthracite looks better and is more practical. I love the Ash, but understand it's wild grain and high contrast isn't for everyone - not sure how it would look with Oyster - probably pretty darn good.

The Ash wood looks really nice except I simply hate that "metal inlay". There is too much metal looking trim to my eyes.
Of course real life is likely different

One person described Anthracite as grey with black lines and Ash wood as black with grey highlights

I agree. I got it on mine after seeing it in a car at the lot. Based on the picture on the website I wouldn't have even considered it.

I will try to get a couple shots for you so you can see it. The highlight bar is very subtle. Just breaks up the wood.

I like the Piano Black, but it's hard to keep scratch free on the center console. Aluminum is second. If you want to spend $$ get Carbon Fiber.

well, I have VentoBeige with 10k miles, sports seats and leather still like new.

I've since wanted to modify with Oyster or OpalWeiss, so if you want to trade seats etc and me throwing in some good cash, let me know!

I have MG exterior. After thinking about it, I wish I went with Oyster/Anthracite interior. It will look great. DO IT!
