Posted Curb weights on the BMW USA and MB USA sites, BMW's with auto transmissions:
2018 340i Xdrive - 3858 lbs BMW USA LINK 2018 C43 4MATIC - 3759 lbs MB USA LINK I was shocked to see the Benz weighing less than the 340i xdrive... I went to test drive a 2018 440i Xdrive with MPPK and it felt sluggish and heavy. Turns out to be the heaviest of the bunch! 2018 440i Gran Coupe Xdrive Mppk - 3933 lbs BMW USA LINK Also, the non x-drive 340i: 2018 340i - 3704 lbs So comparing posted curb weights, C43 is 55 lbs heavier than the 340i without xdrive.

The interior is very nice. I prefer the BMW's screen and infotainment. I really hate the column shifter in the C43, it's plain stupid. In the end I had to decide between buying a new 340i, pretty much the exact same car I'm driving now knowing that in 6 months BMW will be launching the G20 or the C43. So after 10 years in a 335i, I decided on the Benz on a short term lease...

I also just came off a 335 lease. I liked the C43, but the mercedes dealer was a complete a-hole so it made my decision easy. I went with a '17 340 for a great deal.
for two very similar cars, the leases were about $230/ mo apart, not including the fact you have to pay for mercedes maintenance. (really wish BMW had remote start!) so basically, was a slightly faster C43 and nicer interior worth it? not even close. my bmw dealer is great and they made it easy to stay in the family and I love the 340 so far! |

Keep in mind BMW's design strategy has always been much different than the other brands. Its always been about being simple, clean...non-trendy. I mean look at the interior - to some extent its "always" looked the same!

always loved the simple look. The interior is not as flashy but practical though. I personally like it better than some of the flashiness of the Merc. Gotta admit that some of Audi's interior is quite splendid though

I like to be a pretty understated kind of guy and the F30 fits that perfectly imo.
