Nothing awe inspiring from the first ever 4 series.

The concept 4 series show car looked much better from front and back. Who thought huge amount of cheap black plasticky stuff in the gaping holes in front bumper looks great or classy.

The bottom area of rear end and exhaust outlet design of rear look like redone of E92 335i. All new same old same old stuff.

I will wait to see this not so impressive 4 series in person for final judgment. However, so far very unimpressive and blah product from BMW.

The E92 335i was much bigger leap from E46 330i then this thing called 4 series. I guess BMW spent all its money on 4 series badges that is the biggest difference......lol.....it sucks.

Have to seriously start thinking of Corvette stingray now or keep my car. As the 4 series is out for me and M4 is too far off in future.

Rear of the car, specifically the slope of the rear glass almost gives the car GT kinda look....I think this is a bust...I'll never buy one.

Agreed. What a joke.

Can anyone help me to choose the color for the msport package that would fit for red interior. I was thinking that grey metallic.

Like most of you I'll wait for the M4 official pics to be revealed but I'm leaning towards a Cayman S now.

I'm pretty neutral on this F32.

Either black or white imo. (or red)

red interior doesn't really work on grey imo...

F30 328 does 0-60 in 5.4-5.6 13.8-14.2 at 98-100mph. Those numbers are the same or better in each category than the E36. I dyno'd my bolt on NA E36 S52(catback intake, pullies, headers) before boost on the same dyno as my 328 and the F30 made the same whp but with 40+ft lbs more tq.

It is hard to compare cornering and braking numbers as so much relies on tires. Tires from '95-98 during the E36 era would get smoked by todays summer tire offerings. The last summer tire F30 test did .90-.91 and 109ft from 60.

I definitely agree, the front just looks like the F30,which is not sporty at all for the coupe.
At least the E92 had a totally different front end design compared to the E90 and looked way sportier.
Why would BMW call this a different series and have the same basic front end design? The only reason can be about saving money, otherwise they would have been much better off just copying the front end of the 6 series, which looks fantastic.

Definitely a more aggressive car. I currently use my 07 335i as my daily driver and don't plan on being part of the new 4 series anytime, but I have to wonder, why is the HP so low? A 2.0L 4 Cyclinder Turbo is only producing 60 less horsepower than a 3.0L 6 Cylinder with Twin Turbos? I just find this mind boggling.

I'm hopeful for the M4's new Twin Turbo system and I have to wonder if they've totally gimped the 435i on purpose to make the M4 look better.

If the M4 pushes 450 HP with the same engine design you have to wonder.

Just came from an event at BMW NA Head Quarters in NJ. Look what they surprise us with

I thought you'd appreciate some real world Joe Shmo phone pics...
In the flesh the car is sleek and has presence, you don't notice the awkward gaping maw lower grill on the sport line when you have the whole car to behold. It sounded aggressive just rolling into the room, I thought it had a performance exhaust, but it was stock.

I believe this was the first fully uncovered public showing of the production model.

BTW BMW, the "fake" m badges are confusing as heck to non BMW people. It gets pretty annoying when my passengers ask me if my car is an m3, and I have to explain no, it's not but...
Or you get asked if your car has a 'full M package'? Wth is a full M package?!?!

Love it but wish it looked different from the F30 more. That rear isn't very "Coupe-y" as it is the F30 rear which I find too boxy-square for a Coupe but more appropriate for a compact-ish Sedan.

Also the M Sport Package isn't my favorite one in the BMW lineup, but overall this car is the hottest Coupe in the midsize market.

Their 0-60 numbers tell more of a truth. The N55 is significantly underrated and even more importantly, its powerband and low-end torque make it feel and perform significantly more than the 300 HP they rate it at (which is closer to what it puts down at the wheels, hence the underrating aspect).

MEH... looks almost exactly like the sedan except with 2 doors. All the 3- 4- and 5-Series rears are looking too much alike. Not very exciting. That side vent appears tacky.

Maybe it appears better in person, but if this was on the road today, I'd probably not give it a 2nd glance. Ho hum. Prefer the looks of the E92. The Audi A5 definitely looks better.
