If you have gotten to the point where you have been able to edit the values, then:

1. save the changes to disk.
2. Press the Back Arrrow button
3. Activate the FA (right click on FA and select "Activate FA".
4. Make sure the correct underlying CAFD file (yellow) line is selected (it may move after activating the FA).
5. Click on Code FDL.

When it's done, make sure the summary window says "0" errors on the title.
i'm not sure what was wrong but i just turned everything off and back on, did the same thing i was doing before and it all worked perfectly thanks a lot for your help. I do have two last questions. Do you have any experience with the M HUD and the speed limit info? they are not marked as working on the cheat sheet. Is there any danger in activating them and seeing what happens?

There probably isn't any harm in trying, but nothing is risk free. You can always VO code an ECU back to the factory settings, so the risk is minimal.

We're pretty sure that none of the M_HUD stuff will work without an M-Cluster.

You can try SLI too, but a lot of talented people have tried without success. Something about having to have the right camera and possibly needing an FSC code too.

Same with the HUD turn signals. They work on the F10's, but we have not had any luck getting them to show on the F30 HUD.

Experiment away if you want to and please post your results!

I'm in So Cal (Ventura County) too and have coded many F30's. Send me an e-mail at frogmanf30 at gmail dot com if you are interested.

You just missed the coding meet we did last weekend!
See: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=798492

I've also had many people come here for coding if you don't mind the drive and don't want to wait for the next meet.

BTW: I don't do this for money, I do it for the BMW community and to give back for all the hard work that other people have put into making this available. I will accept Lunch though!

Hi, I have an F30 Msport on order here in the UK (BW10) and expecting delivery end of March. Presumably E-Sys 3.18.4 and PSDZData 2.46.3 will work fine???

2.46.3 is way too old for a new 2013 F30. You will probably have at least 2.48.3.

You'll need a new token and patch to use 48.3. PM shawnsheridan for details.

You should probably go to E-Sys 3.22.5 (after first installing 3.18.4) as it seems to load much faster than 3.18.4 and is more current.

Sorry, I don't do remote coding. I don't actually code other peoples cars, I just let them borrow my cable and laptop and walk them through coding their own cars. That teaches them how it's done if they want to do more on their own, shows them some of the wonders of the internals of the car, and it removes the issue of the responsibility if something goes wrong.

As far an helping, this forum is all you need to help you get started coding. I can't add anything to help you that's not already here.

You just need the SWID Reader Program, which works with EDIABAS.

SWID Reader for reading 001B FSC file. Rename file from .pdf to zip

Download: SWID_reader.pdf

I have found a way to do this in E-Sys, but I assure you it is a royal PIA.

Is this right? If yes then what are the steps to activate.
The steps are identical, but you don't have to change the VIN.

That said, whether you have BMW Assist to not, you still need a VIN with factory 614 and 615.

We should really try to put together a google doc or wiki or something that is updated with everything we can do and how. This thread is getting a bit hard to keep up with.

We could use this for sharing codes

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...lE&usp=sharing

Nothing in it yet besides basic layout. However anyone can add to it or update it. How does everyone feel about something like this to keep organized? If we can get it together maybe we could have it added to the first page, or sticky on the DIY page.

Thoughts?

I don't think codes are the issue.

ilhan1103 keeps this one online, and I think it is current:

So maybe a Wiki would be better. I was not aware of that Doc, somehow I missed it. Great to see though.

A tip: I find that Activating the FA FIRST is less bothersome than doing it when trying to code the FDLs. You can activate the FA anytime -- I do it before I start searching for things to change.
