retrofit folding mirrors

What is needed to retrofit them? What about the wiring?
I know the architecture of the car has been changed compared to the E9x.

I thought they were standard? If they aren't over there, I'd guess you just need the mirrors with the folding motors and the switch pod. I doubt BMW has a different harness for each option.

You'd be surprised, its usually not that easy, it wasn't on the E90.

On the E39 it was 1 wire to each mirror. The F-series cars seem to be close to max wired though. I'm seeing several unused connectors in the back of my car (presumably for the HK, since thats one of the few things I don't have).

Thought that folding mirrors are only available with the autodim. feature of the exterior mirrors.

Your car is practically loaded tho, so I would think you would have the utmost in terms of wiring compared to a car that only has say, premium, cold weather, and navigation.

Any news regarding the retrofit

Have you checked it closely, does it need complex wiring mechanism?

Please pm for details if you have done it

Hi

I was planning to install it in about 2 weeks but I'm not going to make it. I've moved it now to July.
Hopefully next weekend I'm going to look at the wiring.

hopefully, you can get exactly the wiring mechanism,

does it really need immense modification , or simple one?

my authorized dealer claims, it's quite complex operation

Thanks

For a dealer it is indeed complex. I'll update the topic when I've looked at the wiring.

Already did some investigation but due other cars which has to be repaired I didn't have any time. I will continue in about 2 weeks.

Did you buy the parts? Depending on what your car has on it (ie parts on the car vs. needed parts) the price could be quite high. When i looked into it didn't seem worth it. I needed new mirrors, new base, wiring. ...

The mirrors have already been bought.
What do you mean with new base? Maybe the panel with the switches?
